HR Service Processes- like Payroll, EDA, Quality mgmt. checks. We are using Celonis as a high-powered tool for data analysis on a broad variety of data sets from our HR systems, like EDA, payroll, travel expenses, etc. Celonis is giving us the opportunity to see relationships and correlations in the data between different systems and entities that our (legacy) HR systems are not able to foresee. This way, we can e. g. stop payment of an employee in a case where employees are already leaving the company.

We are able to really quickly adopt new data sets via the standard connectors, build a ("scrappy") data model first and launch an analysis - all within a week if we like. Additionally, Celonis is giving us a variety of options to act on the data via automation and integration with third party providers.

Process mining is the best scenario where Celonis fits very well. In terms of Bi tool i think isn't the best option and on the market we can find better. Regarding apps and automations, it is also a good feature but also needs to improve to have the possibility to understand the logs.

Celonis is a very strong tool for cases where you try to identify deviations of the standard process path. It also helps identify correlations between different aspects that influence these deviations. Moreover, it allows you the possibility to trigger automations from within Celonis platform triggered by pre-defined conditions. On the other hand it is not the most suitable tool to try and build really complex visualizations.

We have other tools in place like PowerBI and Tableau but none of them are so performant and flexible and allow for on-the-fly data interpretation.
Addition new data sources is easy and efficient as well, and as long as tools are built up a standard way, you can get a real head start with the starter kits

For thorough analyses, all departments should take part in the approach since there are a lot of hidden influences and effects from departments to one another. Use cases like conformance / revision are possible but will not be a big lever since this only involves checking single instances.
