Well suited for process analysis; deep dive into what you are doing. Less suited for heavy automation use cases; in our experience other tools are more suited for this.
In our organization, we utilize Celonis to enhance process excellence and drive automation across various functions, enabling us to analyze and visualize business processes and identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. With various implementations in areas like ITSM, HR, Procurement, Commercial Operation, Asset Management, Celonis could support reducing workload by automating repetitive tasks, braking down data silos by integrating data from different sources into one platform and providing a clear visualization of the process flow.
I believe that Celonis is a great tool to use in Uniper, as it can integrate data from different sources into a single platform, making interfaces more accurate and facilitating the monitoring of data flow from one source system to another.
Celonis is used in all major processes in my organization to get transparency and to analyse and optimize the process. Celonis is also used in achieving process standardization, Proactive alerts, deviation flagging, Business Executive dashboarding and is now an integral part of our organization. We are specifically focusing on cross functional points of the process, which are usually the bottlenecks. We are also now focussing on mapping these end-to-end processes to achieve further improvements.
Celonis caters different needs of different business involved in the process. It is extremely useful for Process Analysts to delve into the process for identifying root cause of Pain points. It supports to get an overview of key metrics for Management. It helps to standardize and redesign processes. Identify dependencies of a single entity and aids to understand the impact of an entirely different vertical onto to the current focus of analysis. The Object Centric visualizations and Process Adherence Manager gives a great digital twin of the processes in the Organization.
We use Celonis for our Inventory Management process. Our main problem, which triggered us to look into Inventory Management, was high inventory levels, as many manufacturing companies in the industry face. We identified that planning parameters in our plants are irregularly updated, often based on limited data and experience, which leads to excess stock. We built a Material Insights solution using Celonis, customized it to our process, and focused primarily on identifying materials where we can reduce safety parameters. We then received recommendations from Celonis on safety parameters based on statistical analysis. Ultimately, this contributes to reducing excess stock and increasing free cash flow and warehousing capacity. In addition to this, we also examine orders that can be canceled and released, conduct premium freight analysis to assess supplier behavior, and review claim costs.
I think Celonis works really well in business cases that are well-built. Before starting anything, if the business case is set up properly, including business problem, solution proposition, and target value, then it's easier to know what to expect & what to do. Celonis excels at supporting the business in the beginning, providing a thorough understanding of the business case. I don't think building to see what's wrong and doing an exploration work well. In addition, it was to be a good base for improvement opportunities, not just a regular dashboard to see transparency.

Visualisation and automation suits very very well
We have identified several use cases for our partnership with Celonis. Currently, we are primarily focused on the Procure-to-Pay workspace. We are identifying opportunities to reduce duplicate payments, improve processing speed, and ensure the accuracy of our work.
Celonis clearly excels in the financial area. Procure-to-pay. Accounts Receivable. Payment Processing. We see potential for Celonis to help in more complex areas such as our supply chain, warehousing, and distribution spaces. However, it is much more involved and requires a very different approach than the typical process mapping.
We use Celonis as our calculation method for our IFRS 9 annual and monthly calculation. Celonis obtains our overdue balances directly from our account system. It then uses certain logics to perform standard exclusions as per our requirements and then, using code, our calculation logic has been built in to return our amount to be adjusted. It provides us the flexibility to also upload a config file to override certain calculations where we know IFRS 9 requires updates such as insolvencies etc.
The ability to download the information and then perform basic calculations is a really good use case, but it only scratches the surface. It could be used to perform detailed comparisons during migration between systems, as well as KPI measurements and analysis.
Celonis is a powerful tool for process mining and execution management. Celonis helps us to visualize and analyze our business processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. This can lead to significant cost savings and increased operational efficiency. By providing a detailed view of processes, Celonis enables us to automate repetitive tasks, reducing manual effort and minimizing errors.
