Why I like Gem

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use GEM to track our sourcing efforts and where each person is that we have in the process is. Also, it's very helpful to understand how many recruiter screens or F2F's it historically takes to get an offer.

Pros

  • Reporting
  • Management of Sourcing Projects
  • Integration with Greenhouse so we know if said candidate has interviewed before

Cons

  • Notes - since it's on a second 'page' it's hard to even see if a candidate as notes

Return on Investment

  • Efficient tracking for quick responses on data points

Gem is a necessity in this competitive market!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Gem as a sourcing tool to reach candidates by email vs inmail. The market is extremely competitive right now and Gem is a great way to get noticed by candidates. It allows you to create "sequences" or a series of automated emails so that you don't have to follow up manually. Additionally, you can send on behalf of (send from someone else) say for example a hiring manager, etc which also helps messages get noticed. Additional pluses of Gem - GREAT analytics, way better than our ATS's and a really cool talent pipeline feature - basically a Trello board of your pipeline! It's a great way to see the status of every role in a very digestible format!

Pros

  • Sending sequences (automated emails to candidates).
  • Analytics, including great visuals of the pipeline.
  • Great metrics features so you can measure your impact (much better than LinkedIn).

Cons

  • Honestly - nothing! Gem just keeps getting better and better in ways I wouldn't have thought of!

Return on Investment

  • Allowed us to track our impact through the analytics and set more realistic expectations with exec teams on what is possible for recruiting.
