Solid replacement for physical phone system

Rating: 7 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We recently replaced almost all of the physical phones with Webex Calling across campus. It was a building by building phase in as part of the "Next Generation Voice Services" project here. The basic business case was that management of the physical phones was getting unwieldy and expensive, and a more sustainable solution was sought. Since every full time employee is supplied an enterprise managed computer to which we could deploy a digital solution, it seemed a natural progression.

Pros

  • Has clients for multiple platforms and devices
  • Uses existing network connections instead of hardwired phone lines
  • Client can be consolidated with other communications methods (Slack, Zoom, Chat) in one place
  • Client is simple to use
  • Client integrates with remainder of physical phone system for special cases (university main reception number, for instance)
  • Handles call routing to different locations well
  • Integrates with existing computer audio (for instance, Apple AirPods)

Cons

  • Settings area is a little confusing
  • We occasionally have voice quality issues, but this may be local infrastructure
  • Integrate contacts list with directory servers

Likelihood to Recommend

It seems quite able to handle the normal day to day voice call requirements quite well. Our previous Cisco phones had cameras that could do video calls, but if we need that we go to a Zoom session. Conference room use is not terribly convenient, although this might just be a case of us figuring out how to adapt the environment.

I would use Webex Calling

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our business uses this application for daily meetings, educational courses and remote work messages. We utilize Webex Calling as a means to keep in touch with our local and global contacts. It allows professors to teach remotely and students to attend class even if they are sick. Webex Calling proved its use especially during COVID when the campus was shuttered for almost a year.

Pros

  • Federated messaging
  • Uninterrupted calling
  • Provides cost savings

Cons

  • Combine the Webex Calling and Webex Meet applications
  • Allow for skins for user personalization
  • Allow contacts to be added without your contact list

Likelihood to Recommend

Our call centers would benefit from this so we would not have to supply a desk phone nor would we need to worry about timing, VPN timing. We can load this on any laptop and send them home to work.

Webex Calling vs. The other guys….

Rating: 7 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have started using it in our call center environment as a replacement for desk phones for our work from home users. Covid brought on the use for application type phones so we can remain in touch with our employees and doctors across our multiple campuses. Our medical staff utilize this for remote teaching as we are a teaching hospital.

Pros

  • Call connectivity
  • Enhanced mobility for remote users
  • Call center operations
  • Nursing and doctor care improvement

Cons

  • Need to push jabber use out of the picture
  • Seamless connection from Wi-Fi to cellular
  • Easier setup
  • Easier maintenance on the back end

Likelihood to Recommend

It is well suited for remote users and staff that are always on the go. I like the facet that you can use it and not pass along your cellular phone number if you do not want outside contacts to have it. SNR works great too if you do not want to use the Webex app.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I work for communities and counseling for study abroad operations and for these operations I use Webex Calling, in this era where everything is going online I like how Webex Calling functions and solves my multiple problems with one go. Its integration with Webex Suite was what I liked the most, now everything can be done with ease be it calling, meetings or even messaging. The primordial problem it has solved for me is how in a very user-friendly way I have everything at my disposal. From connecting with colleagues to setting up meetings with partners, everything is seamless with Webex Calling. Cisco itself is a big company and it delivers quite well, Webex Calling is just another example of the same. Admin portal is quite friendly and easy to use and the most important part is that audio calls are crystal clear so all in all they do affect the meetings in a positive way by basically forming the base that no one sees. If not for this product and how nicely it functions, maybe a good partnership might've been broken maybe a deal wouldn't have been signed maybe corporate connectivity would not have been that good and seamless.

Pros

  • Real time translation to multiple languages
  • Whiteboards are unlimited which is great
  • Up to 1000 attendees can join the meetings

Cons

  • I think that there are less emojis, there could be more since other free providers also provide the same
  • International calling is a bit more expensive, could be taken down a bit
  • Virtual backgrounds aren't that much appealing as well, there is room for improvement there

Likelihood to Recommend

The audio is very clear, but when the two devices are close, there is considerable noise. Also the calling is quite expensive considering that there are countless free tools available which provide the same features. Call recording is an add on so there you need to think about whether it's worth purchasing or not. Also that it can be used on multiple devices with the app makes things easier. For small scale corporates and teams it's all good, but with respect to its competitors bringing so much on plate and that too for free, I rate it 6/10.

Webex Calling is a trusted and proven cloud calling software and is very useful as well. It delivers enterprise level calling solutions that can easily replace PBX network. It is the best for team meetings as it can allow up to 100 members in a call. Meeting can also be recorded and transcripts can also be taken out using Webex calling

Pros

  • Team Meetings
  • Meeting recording feature
  • Transcript Generation

Cons

  • The iOS version of Webex has a lot to improve
  • The UI can be made smoother
  • It requires a stable bandwidth to ensure a proper call and hence consumes a lot of data

Likelihood to Recommend

I have used Webex calling to hold tutorial classes for trainees and also done orientation for interns. It can allow up to 100 participants in a call which helps a lot. I have also used it for Team meetings. It is easily one of the best calling solutions available on the market.

Webex Calling interesting integrative tool of the Cisco Webex family

Rating: 6 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Webex Calling is used throughout our organization for meetings and collaboration. Our university adopted it during the pandemic to continue remotely with lessons and seminars. In particular, Webex Calling has made it possible to solve problems related to the number of people who had to connect to the same meeting or lesson.

Pros

  • Webex Calling allows you to set up a call queue. This way, when calls are unanswered, callers are automatically answered. This becomes very useful for being able to communicate with many students remotely.
  • It allows you to create a paging group so that users included in the group (in our case, our students) can send an audio message to a specific person or the entire class group.
  • Webex Calling allows you to set specific times to receive calls. In this way, we can prevent our students (especially those who live in other time zones) from contacting the teachers of the class group at unwanted times.

Cons

  • The graphics can be significantly improved. Sometimes it isn't easy where to click to access a specific call.
  • Webex Calling (as well as other Cisco Webex software) crashes frequently. This makes communication difficult.
  • There is room for improvement for common chat features. It is sometimes difficult to manage internal communications when there are many callers.

Likelihood to Recommend

Webex Calling is an interesting software that allowed (and continues to allow) us to connect and interact directly with our students remotely. During the most challenging moments of the pandemic, it was fundamental. But even today, it allows us to follow students in other parts of the world or who need not physically come to the University. However, it occasionally crashes, making communications difficult.

Webex Calling is an Intuitive and Powerful to Turbocharge your meeting experience.

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it for team meetings and calls with third-party non-affiliated groups such as other universities or organizations. It helps give us another reliable tool in which to collaborate and connect with other groups depending on their preferences and existing use preferences. Moreover, it allows our users to use this tool rather than personal cellphones when conducting official communications.

Pros

  • Intuitive Interface
  • High Quality and Fidelity
  • Low Latency

Cons

  • Initial Set up may be hard
  • Lack of Interface Customizability
  • No Calendar Feature

Likelihood to Recommend

It is particularly useful for those using Webex Calling to conduct short phone call meetings with multiple parties regarding official business. It is easy to set up a call with multiple people and the quality of the call is very easy to use. It may not be appropriate for less formal scenarios between team mates that can more easily facilitated or set up with a phone call.

Don't let a pandemic stop you from sharing ideas

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Webex Calling has shined in our company not only through the pandemic but well before. Integration is fantastic, with new features being added with every revision. I look forward to each and every update. Management is a breeze; if a rare problem pops up, it's very easy to create a ticket and work with support. Video calling is beautiful and works with ease even on our thin clients with VDI. Employees love the customization of backgrounds and the ease of sending GIF replies (my favorite feature). I've managed Teams, Zoom, and RingCentral. All pale in comparison to Webex Calling. Cisco - doing things right.

Pros

  • Collaboration
  • Video calling
  • Organization of files in chatspace
  • Voicemail integration
  • Personal insights

Cons

  • Ability to set status permanently, not expire after a week
  • No longer able to highlight multiple messages
  • Pin multiple messages in spaces

Likelihood to Recommend

Having the ability to telecommute with our clients during the pandemic gave us a unique advantage. While others were scrambling to create new SOPs to work remote and to provide treatment remote, our company was used to this and we didn't skip a beat. We were able to continue treatment without a hiccup.
