I use Trello to quickly keep track of the various projects and tasks that myself and my team are responsible for. It's solid on its own, but with certain power-ups I'm able to get even more insight into our current progress. I've found it to be much easier to explain to others and get them using versus most other project management tools.
Pros
Easy to use - Most people intuitively understand how to use it and understand the status of various tasks and projects.
Easy to visualize - I can quickly glance at our boards and understand the status of projects and what needs to happen next.
Affordable - It's well worth the price in terms of time saved versus other tools.
Cons
It can easily become a cluttered visual mess if you're not careful. I'd like to see some attachments handled differently to help this.
Some workflows take a few too many clicks. Nothing time consuming, but seconds add up over time.
There are a few quirks when using the desktop app along with power-ups. Very minor but would love to see them addressed.

If you don't require ridiculously detailed tracking of projects, Trello is a great solution. It can help from the very basic all the way to the fairly detailed. It's when you get into the ridiculously detailing project tracking needs that Trello simply won't help you. It's made for simplicity. I haven't run into any situations myself where Trello didn't help but given the tracking, some project teams do I know those situations are out there where it won't work.
Our company uses Trello as a customer service database. We input basic customer contact info and we are able to schedule calendar follow-ups, tag other users with our questions concerning the customer, and also keep track of any pertinent information in relation to the job. Trello is a necessity at this point. Whenever we are asked questions concerning a job, we always reference Trello. It is an affordable way to keep organized. If you are a newer business and need a program to keep organized, start with the free version and play around with its features. Trello has checklists, calendars, color coding, labeling, and plug-ins to add different features.
Pros
Their search bar allows you to search for keywords.
We use their color-coding religiously.
The audit trail left behind by each user really helps us track what happens with each card.
Cons
We always accidentally use shortcuts that change things in the card. (Certain keys change cards)
Don't like the automatic "watch" feature. I don't need to follow a card after leaving a note. I am constantly "unwatching" cards.
Consider integrating construction management plug-ins.

I think if you work with a team, USE TRELLO! It's a great way to communicate and keep track of productivity. I love its ability to work from mobile devices and also web. Its versatility makes it impossible for someone to say they don't have access to it. Trello will literally be in the palm of their hand.

We have a few groups that use Trello and it is mostly for projects or ongoing tasks. Trello is so very easy to use. It allows us to all be on the same page and see in real-time who is doing what part of the whole task or project. It is easy to divide responsibilities and be efficient.
Pros
Easy to create project and cards.
Easy to label cards with people, colors, check-boxes, etc.
Cards can be dragged around and archived very simply.
Cons
Perhaps Trello could use more integrations with other well known and used programs.
More automated features.
More administrative capabilities.

Trello is well suited for overseeing projects where there are many moving parts and components. Trello can help visualize all the different pieces and help you assign them to individuals. Everyone who can see the boards can get up to date information instantly. The checklists and deadlines features are great because they make parts of the work very finite and tangible.
