In TrustRadius reviews, Trello is primarily utilized for task and project organization, enabling teams and individuals to manage daily tasks, track progress, and coordinate efforts, especially in distributed or complex project environments. Reviewers widely praise its robust capabilities in structuring work, task prioritization, and fostering collaboration, noting its intuitive design and user-friendly interface. Many leverage its customization options to tailor boards, leading to enhanced organizational efficiency for 10 reviewers.

However, some reviewers report limitations in reporting and analytics, often necessitating external extensions. Challenges also arise with managing extensive task lists within single columns, which can become visually overwhelming. Reviewers occasionally experienced performance issues and desire more granular notification controls and diverse board formatting options. Despite these points, the overall sentiment indicates Trello effectively streamlines workflows.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Trello for small project efforts within our fairly small team of 7 people. Trello is used across our entire 800 person organization for varying needs.

Pros

  • The Kanban style board and ease of use is particularly helpful
  • Overall, the tool is very easy to use, the drag and drop functionality helps with making things simpler

Cons

  • Integration with our timesheet system would be helpful.

Likelihood to Recommend

I don't think Trello is particularly useful for large enterprise projects. The kanban and card based concept are really best suited to agile or iterative work.
