Use Cases and Deployment Scope
Crazy Egg has been a legacy tool that we've used, but I don't think we've used it to its fullest capabilities. With that said, we've used it to view heat maps of traffic (and we share those images in reports) and we've more recently used the session recording tool to observe users interact with our website in real-time.
Pros
Price is competitive
A/B testing
Cons
Session recording is not very reliable.
Hard to target some of the features, too broad.

I will be honest, it hasn't really helped us target areas of opportunity as we had hoped. We wanted the session recordings to help us gain visibility into what users were doing, but it wasn't very finely targeted and it wasn't always reliable.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We wanted to see how our website was being used. Crazy Egg has a lot of features to discover how users are interacting with the elements on the webpage. The heatmap shows where the users are clicking the most. The Rage Click shows elements that are inactive but looks like elements that should be clickable. There is a survey option that is simple and easy to set up for direct feedback from the users. A/B testing is available to see which version is a better solution. Crazy Egg does a good job of revealing user interaction and is especially useful when you want to upgrade your website for a better user experience.

Pros
Easy implementation on site.
Easy to understand visual reporting.
Easy (and fast) set up.
Great UX and UI within the tool.
Cons
I wish there was more customer support to lean on for test ideas and how to use the tool to our advantage. I'm sure there is a ton of value we haven't unlocked yet.
Sometimes the test set up for different devices is a little clunky.
On our sites, we have a ton of pop-ups. Despite checking off the "omit pop-ups" on the test set up, we still capture the pop up on the page's image which can cover up a ton of retail space to analyze.
Return on Investment
Crazy Egg has helped to steer our ship in the right direction when it comes to prioritizing site changes and updates, which has translated in making updates that positively impact our user's experience and conversions directly.

Crazy Egg helps us to know where our users come from. It also gives us an idea of what section of our website is being interacted with most by our users. This is crucial business intelligence required to improve the effectiveness of our website.
Pros
It generates heatmaps based on what users clicked on the website. Helps you with a visual representation of the user's actions.
It generates a scroll map checking how far users scroll on pages and when they lose interest in the content.
It generates Overlay and Confetti to track a website's operation.
Takes a screenshot of the URL, collects all the clicks on it, and then projects it as a heatmap on the screenshot. This makes it easier to understand.
Cons
Sometimes the snapshots record fewer visits as compared to another page variant even when traffic is evenly distributed between the two.
Crazy Egg has limited heatmap visualizations.
Need to delete snapshots after it reaches the max limit. It happens fast if you are taking both mobile and desktop views of pages.
