Overall Satisfaction with MasterControl Quality Excellence

We use the Quality Excellence suite of products that includes Documents, Training, Process, and Supplier modules. Using MasterControl alleviates the problems that come with using a paper-based quality management system including reducing operational efficiency and reducing the turnaround time in getting quality events completed and closed out. Paper documents do not get lost in transit anymore and the review and approval process is much more efficient.

Pros

  • Quality event management (change controls, deviations, etc.)
  • Facilitating employee training
  • Platform customer support

Cons

  • FBS forms lack flexibility
  • Ability to mass archive documents (simultaneously)
  • Better response time with Mastercontrol support tickets and questions
  • Quality event documents are completed much faster, from creation to release.
  • SOP revisions are completed more efficiently with cross-departmental collaboration.
  • SOP training with user-generated exams improved employee retention of information.
The MasterControl interface is very clean and well organized. There are many help resources including self-study courses that are available to all users.

It is well suited for organizations that have a lot of processes/workflows that involve multiple teams or team members as MasterControl will improve on workflow efficiency. MasterControl is good for automating any manual processes. MasterControl may not be appropriate or necessary for an organization that does not have the need to write many quality event documents or they are a very small organization.
