BambooHR Has Changed My Life
Overall Satisfaction with BambooHR®
We use it for timekeeping, benefits, hiring, onboarding, offboarding, and payroll. I am a one person HR department, and it has greatly reduced the number of hours it takes to get things done. It offers a platform where I can work in conjunction with my managers by sharing resumes and updates on candidates, keep notes on employees, and give employees access to a transparent, self-service timekeeping and time off module.
Pros
- Time Off - my employees love that they can calculate their upcoming time off.
- Payroll - I love the ability to add notes for my upcoming payroll so it's all in the same place.
- Creates fun and humor - the culture carries over to ours.
- Hiring - I love being able to build out templates and share candidate information all in one place.
- Customized reports - BambooHR has made this process so easy.
Cons
- Benefit premiums for individually rated policies - I would love for the system to be able to generate premiums for dependents, not just for the employee.
- I would like to be able to tailor the fields on the employees' profiles. For example, I have created a "Fax" field, but would love for it to show up on their "profile" under their phone extensions.
- Benefits - we make our employer contributions every quarter and I would love to be able to enter that amount somewhere so it reflects in the overall employer contribution to their benefits.
- BambooHR has replaced the need to hire an HR administrator. I now can manage everything on my own for a staff of 57.
- The time to hire has been greatly reduced because managers are alerted as soon as a new candidate is entered in the system. They are responding with feedback re: the candidates within an hour. In the past, it would take a day or two for them to respond to their emails about candidates, delaying the process, and sometimes causing us to lose out on good people because of the lag time.
- The timekeeping and time off modules have shaved hours off each week by streamlining the time off request process, keeping a time off calendar, and allowing employees to calculate their own time off balances. Their accruals and previously taken PTO is transparent and easy for them to see and questions regarding PTO have virtually stopped. I used to set aside entire days to do PTO updates for the team, and I no longer have to do that.
It has made meetings with the CEO more effective and meaningful because I can pull reports quickly and easily during our meetings instead of having to get back to him later.
