Navigating Large Events is Easy

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

As a participating and attending organization at YIMBYtown 2025, Abundant Housing LA made it easy to connect to event managers and planners to discuss events, share resources, and prepare for upcoming engagements. Furthermore, it allowed us to easily stay in contact and exchange information with other event attendees.

Pros

  • Whova allowed me to create my own thread for a topic I care about.
  • Exchanging contact information with people I met is super easy even though it saves the email address as the contact name.
  • The agenda options were helpful is seeing what was available and narrowing down to top options via the ability to double book on my personal agenda.

Cons

  • For my needs, I can't think of anything that falls into this category.

Return on Investment

  • My contact list has grown about 20% since attending YIMBYtown 2025, which has facilitated collaborations that strengthen my organization's capacity to meet our goals.

Usability

Highly recommend Whova

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I was recently and attendee/exhibitor at the CRRA Conference and the Whova was the best conference app I have experienced in a very long time. Was easy to use for the Conference Agenda, looking up attendees and sending them messages - but the best was the Lead Management right from my phone.

Pros

  • Lead Retrieval/Management
  • Attendee Messaging
  • Agenda

Cons

  • Attendee information should include mailing address and telephone numbers
  • Once the messaging icon is opened, the number of open messages should disappear. Each message needed to be opened - was time consuming to remove and look at unread messages

Return on Investment

  • Higher lead generation with the ease of using on-site

Usability

Enjoyed using the Whova App

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I recently attended the [..] Annual Training/Conference in Louisville, KY - this was my first time using the Whova app. I found it very helpful in navigating the week which was filled with various events. The agenda portion of Whova was definitely my friend throughout the week. I personally did not encounter any issues or problems with the app.

Pros

  • Agenda
  • Ease of use
  • Leaderboard - very fun
  • Documents

Usability

Great app for conferences

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Used for a conference for all family medicine docs in Hawaii. Utilized by attendees to track lectures, leave comments and feedback and engage within the community.

Pros

  • Attendee conference engagement - track lectures, ask questions
  • Ease of use for presenters - create polls, review questions
  • Contact organization - allow attendees and presenters to connect with each other

Cons

  • Sometimes hard to create polling in app
  • Ease of use to transfer contact info to personal email outside of app
  • Download content / lecture notes

Return on Investment

  • I think it makes the conference more enjoyable. Unable to speak if it leads to a financial return on investment but definitely helps reduce the burden and the organization

Usability

Whova - 2025 [...] Conference Review

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I utilized this app while at the 2025 [...]Conference. Overall, I was very impressed with the platform and the networking tools. I loved being able to manage my schedule and have it ready to go to guide my day.

Pros

  • Direct networking with attendees and opportunities to meet.
  • Organizing the conference's agenda.
  • Connected well with the attendee roster available. I really liked the bookmark feature that helped me quickly remember whom I chatted with.

Cons

  • I did notice some lag in messages being received after being sent.
  • I also found it hard to go back to a community group meet up for updates. You had to manually go back through all the other groups to find the one I signed up for. I would see updates come through, but couldn't access them directly.

Return on Investment

  • I was very impressed with how I was able to note my interactions with attendees and used the bookmarked feature to connect with 21 close colleagues. This was my first conference as a representative of my city, and I was a bit worried about meeting people. With the support of this app, I was able to increase my opportunities to network by over 20 people whom I plan to reach out to moving forward.
  • I even made some amazing connections with about a third of them with a community meet up group for LGBTQ+ attendees and allies. Changed the whole conference for me and made it an amazing experience.
