This is well suited because it empowers you to be informed with a simple touch of a button. This could be from an event, who the sponsors and who is attending the event, logistics, and basically gives you access to be involved and chose what applies to you.
I attended a Whova use-case event. The app was used for all formal logistics and networking purposes. The event had an attendance of roughly 800 unique members.
Pros
Profile Creation
Ease of Contact Exchange
Aggregated Attendees List for Follow Up
Cons
Split the community tab. It's currently hard to have sideline events be discoverable to the wider audience if it's hidden between polls and general questions

Whova is great for conference settings in which networking is a significant aspect of the experience.
Whova provides a highly interactive conference or meeting experience. It provide a virtual contact app between the Conference Presenters and the Attendees. From a User perspective, Whova provides an easy-to-use app, with email reminders regarding your event, and follow-up.
Pros
Increase participation by attendees by encouraging interaction through set--up meetings and common interests.
Promotes an active agenda, and allows everyone to see what is happening when.
Connects the presentations to handouts, polls, conversation and Q&A
Cons
I think Whova works best with groups do have studied the app, and considered its usage by attendees.
Likelihood to Recommend
Whova increases the participation of virtual attendees to a Conference or Meeting. Whova provides a clearer opportunity for Presenters to Interact with attendees - both instantly and after the presentation.
We use Whova as a lead collection tool. We are vendors/exhibitors at conferences and events.
Pros
Syncing data between the app and desktop.
Lead collection and downloading
Linking with LinkedIn and other Social sites for promotion
Cons
It is very hard to switch between events on the desktop version. I honestly don't even know how.
Likelihood to Recommend
It has been great for lead collection. Far better than using traditional business cards. I have been able to messages attendees successfully as well and start conversation in the app. For giveaways, the community section was great for @mentioning people when an actual live "announcement" was not available.

It was useful for determining other parties who would be in attendance at the conference so we could connect while in attendance.

Connecting with other Participants
Creating conversations among attendees
Sharing event insights and fun things like photographs
Navigation of the Event Location

Whova is a great tool for large scale events, particularly when there are different meeting/conference tracks.
This is the second year that I used Whova. I am more comfortable
using it in the second year. It is offered by an annual conference that I
attend. It is easy to use and great for checking who is attending the
conference. It is also very helpful to have the full agenda of sessions along
with the speakers for future reference.
The contact feature is also great.
Pros
attendee list
messaging attendees
agenda summary

agenda list, messaging feature, and attendee list. It should be easy, which it is.
I just finished participating in the [...] International Convention in Brisbane, Australia, using the Whova app to attend virtually. This is the second [...] International Convention to use the Whova app. In 2022 I attended the convention in Hamburg, Germany. I became familiar with the app at that convention. The app allows you to set up your profile with various levels of privacy. The ability to connect to other attendees is a particular strong point of this app. Another is the ability to query the organizers. During the most recent convention occurring in Australia, the app allowed me to see events in my local time. I was able to sign into meetings and presentations either through the mobile app or on my laptop. Chat and questions were available to be used during those presentations. I was impressed with my ability to participate in this convention, even though I was attending virtually. A problem with the app was that it wasn't clearly stated that there would not be a "button" to click to enter a meeting until the actual meeting time. A statement to this fact would have been helpful. Having the button visible but not "active" would have been better. A second problem with this issue was the need to refresh the app to make the button finally appear.
Pros
Set up personalized profiles visible to other attendees
Ability to connect with other attendees before, during and after the event.
Almost constant access to organizers for questions and problems.
Cons
Provide clear instructions to refresh the app or browser at the start of the meeting time to activate the button to enter the meeting.
Default to no self video or audio when entering the meeting. It was extremely distracting to have people's video links popping into the screen throughout the presentation.
Provide a "What's happening now" button on the home page, at least for the main auditorium.
Provide a clear path to recorded videos once they are available.
Improve editing features for profiles. There were many duplicate profiles that appeared to have spelling mistakes or other problems. It appeared that the users had to start over and make a new profile to fix the issue.
Make a listing of virtual attendees easier to access. Currently one had to comb through the entire attendee list and bookmark the profiles that were virtual/remote attendees.
Likelihood to Recommend
Overall having the Whova app was extremely helpful to provide information and drive engagement in the audience/attendees both on-site and remote. The ability to connect with like-minded attendees both pre-event and during the event was particularly helpful. Clarifying directions for "entering" events remotely would negate user anxiety.
Whova was an indispensable tool for the [...] event planning. Whova is a fantastic event management platform that has revolutionized the way I was able to experience the conference. If you're looking for a user-friendly and feature-rich tool to take your events to the next level, look no further than Whova!
Pros
communication connecting with others at the conference
event agenda preparation
note taking and follow up
Cons
a video to show how to use the app for new users who aren't computer savvy
email communication for users who aren't computer savvy
Likelihood to Recommend
I was able to connect with many vendors, offer kudos and ask questions which was extremely beneficial to me. If I would have waited till I got home to try to make those things happen they may have never happened.
Although I have not used Whova in my organization, I have used it at many conferences. I think it is a great way to stay connected with, network, and meet colleagues in my industry who are both attending in-person and virtually. I love how Whova has several ways for participants to interact and get to know each other. Adding the element of competition is also fun!
Pros
Keeps events and agenda items organized
Allows for networking across all platforms (in-person, hybrid, and virtually)
Keeps participants who use the app engaged and informed
Cons
A way for the app to keep up with added points on the Leaderboard without having to go to the Leaderboard to do so.
I would love for Whova to add a section on attractions around the city, town, and area where conferences are held.
A way for the Whova app to work w/o an internet connection or low connectivity/bandwidth.
Likelihood to Recommend
Conferences. This is the only scenario in which I've used Whova, so I cannot comment on or recommend any additional scenarios.
