Tableau allows my team and the entire company to visualize important KPIs that are key to reaching business goals. I use Tableau every day to check performances and report them back to the different stakeholders in the company, as well as filling the forecast. Tableau is great for visualizing time series and being able to compare YoY, QoQ, WoW or DoD, as well have having the chance to switch between rates and row numbers.
Pros
comparison
personalization
sync
Cons
heaviness of the the dashboards: when the number of data is great, the dashboard start to lag and it is getting difficult to update.

I think Tableau is well suited when you have a dedicated ADI team that works on the dashboard and data visualization and they are able to deliver requested reports. Tableau could not suit small companies where there's no ADI dedicated team or analyst and the marketers or product managers have to create their own dashboard, since the queries are not that easy.

My organization uses Tableau Online to track employee performance statistics, trends, competitions, etc. It is used across the whole organization. It addresses the problem of having accurate data to coach our employees. We use this platform on a daily basis. It is a necessary part of being a manager with our company, but we have also given access to our field employees as well. This way they can track their own performance daily.
Pros
Tableau Online has a really good search system to help users find data.
Tableau Online has a system to send regular reports of workbooks that users choose to subscribe to.
Tableau Online has a very user friendly app that can be used by anyone with no formal training.
Tableau Online refreshes on an hourly and daily basis to make sure its users always has up to date data.
Cons
Tableau Online could be better when pulling up data on a phone. Some data is cut off and is not able to be expanded for mobile viewing.
Tableau Online mobile requires a manual refresh each time you log on. It does not default to the latest data.
Sometimes I am not allowed to log on unless I clear the cache or cookies. I rarely have this issue with any other sites.

I would definitely recommend Tableau Online if asked by a colleague. It has so many great features. Of course it is not a perfect system, but no system is perfect, right? But if you need a database to house your data, this is one of, if not the best, I have ever used. The mobile version is great when using a larger mobile device, but it is not as convenient when on a smaller device like an iPhone.
The whole organization utilizes Tableau for sales and marketing analytics that is set up by the Group Marketing team. It is used to view competitor and industry analysis, quarterly sales and budgetary tracking, etc.
Pros
Large degree of control over data and how it can be used
Cons
Better UI to help navigate through folders and subfolders.

Tableau is a good tool for sharing in-depth reports with large groups, and allows a great amount of control over the display of information. Tableau reports hold a lot of information.
Tableau is our primary tool to organize our data, we have created hundreds of dashboards and views, and we rely on the tool daily. It is used by all of our Executive, Revenue and Marketing, and Product Teams. It provides us constant insight into our revenue, the number of bookings, marketing campaign performance, and we can look into any granular details we might need to know.
Pros
Ability to create very detailed, complex dashboards, giving a comprehensive overview of the selected data.
Ability to define numerous, complex filters that work together, allowing us to utilize a single report or dashboard for many different purposes.
Easy to organize the dashboards and views, the search is powerful.
Cons
Copying and exporting the data is difficult. Working online with the tool is great, but getting the data out of Tableau is inconvenient.
Editing the dashboards is quite complex, we have a dedicated team who needs to manage these as most users are unable to do so.
In cases of complex a dashboard, filtering can take a while, refreshing of data is quite slow.

It is a great tool to display data for the users in a clear, human-readable format. Dashboards created fulfilled all our requests, the tool is flexible and reliable. It is great for monitoring and understanding our performance. We use it daily to understand our booking volume and revenue, and marketing and loyalty program performance broken down to granular details. Tableau is 'raw' data focused, not suitable to understand in detail e.g. customer behavior (how our users interact with our platforms).
