Really Great Choice for the Most Part

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Rippling for HR purposes, payroll, and spend management. My use case is mostly in the spend management domain, assessing the business expenses of everyone in our organization and syncing the expense data over to our accounting and donor database software to ensure that we can meet legal reporting requirements properly.

Pros

  • Having an intuitive website layout
  • Spelling out required tasks for new hires
  • The customer service team is super kind and responsive

Cons

  • They give me way more tasks to complete than is necessary for me specifically
  • Their accounting sync needs to be able to group reimbursements by the day they were paid out
  • The color scheme is a bit uninspired

Return on Investment

  • Saves us a ton of money per month on reimbursements (we don't have to pay anything)
  • Really useful integration into our accounting software for the most part
  • We were able to add spend management functionality on top of our existing payroll system

Automating payroll and tax compliance. Streamlining new hire onboarding and offboarding. Reducing administrative errors by integrating HR, IT and finance functions. Providing employees with a self-service portal for pay stubs, benefits, and personal information. The scope of our use case covers the entire employee life cycle, from recruiting and onboarding to ongoing HR management, payroll processing, and, in some cases, IT device management. We use company-wide across all departments, so everyone interacts with Rippling at some level, whether for HR processes, payroll, or compliance needs.

Return on Investment

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Rippling as our payroll provider. I run salary, hourly, contactors and one-time personnel payments through Rippling. We have between 10-15 employees per year, with 2-5 contractors. Rippling is able to track our employees benefits and give them and management a view at any time. We can add benefits which we are in the process of doing now such as 403(b) plan and health benefits.

Pros

  • Provides not just pay, but reimbursements, and other non-standard deductions.
  • Keeps track of vacation, PTO, maternity leave, etc.
  • Provides a payroll comparison with prior payroll per employee to see the differences, thus noting payroll changes that may be troubling.

Cons

  • Rippling could provide some help in determining exemption of employees in states other than our state of incorporation.
  • Assistance in setting up the payroll accounts in states. They leave this to the organization saying just "provide us with the account numbers."
  • Provide editable forms that can become the company's standards for things like onboarding, employment offer, some policies acceptances and things like that.

Return on Investment

  • Providing employees clear access to pay and benefits helps keep them.
  • Rippling combined two other systems that we used, so we saved time and money.
  • Once things are setup and policies in place it works like a charm.

  • HR is able to communicate with training modules and whats needed
