Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it for payroll and benefits management.

Pros

  • Payroll flexibility - offering the ability to add additional payrolls or make temporary one-time changes to each employee.
  • Timekeeping flexibility - we're willing to adjust our timekeeping to match our current practices.
  • They understand our demographic - church, non-profit and our unique tax implications.

Cons

  • They can be buggy. When employees log in, they frequently encounter issues, such as being unable to log in, navigating to the required page, entering time, or requesting vacation. At times, I need to do these things for employees who are unable to get Paycor to work for them.
  • Inflexibility in performance reviews.
  • Inability to impersonate an employee to help them.

Return on Investment

  • It has provided payroll stability and compliance.
  • It has standardized onboarding and benefits open enrollment.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

At my company, we solely use the Paycor Recruiting platform, which helps us streamline the recruiting process and keep our candidate pool organized. The product has helped us track our time to fill for specific job titles, departments, and even locations (we have 82 branches across the Midwest). We use Paycor Recruiting on a daily basis to review applications, communicate with candidates, and track our progress in the hiring process. Additionally, Paycor Recruiting has helped us put together quarterly metrics to review not only time to fill but also trends such as candidate sourcing, what jobs receive the most applications, and problem areas that need to be researched further and addressed in a timely manner.

Pros

  • With the click of one button Paycor Recruiting will seamlessly post a position to multiple job boards directly from their platform! We also post our job openings to our company careers page and our internal careers page which are included in the single click to post along with Indeed, LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and ZipRecruiter.
  • The customized workflows in the applicant tracking system are excellent for staying organized and allowing both recruiters and hiring managers to quickly assess where each candidate is at in the hiring process. This helps ensure no candidates are getting duplicate calls, emails, or requests from those involved in the recruiting process.
  • The customizable templates are a huge time saver! You can create specific job templates to make posting position faster. You can create email and texting templates to make sure communication with candidates is consistent across the board. You can create offer letter templates and thank you letter templates as well so the information doesn’t have to be typed up from scratch every time. These features all make the recruiting process seamless and ensures that’s each candidate is getting the same great experience!

Cons

  • The reporting capabilities of Paycor Recruiting are lacking. While there are some great features I would like to see more options for customization. The options to build my own report from SCRATCH with whatever fields I want/need would be a huge improvement. At this time, I have to finagle the reports to try and get what I need and often times I have to pull multiple reports and then do extra work outside of the system to end up with metrics close to what I’m looking for in the data.
  • The candidates search feature could use some improvement. In theory, the tagging system is a great idea but it leaves room for inconsistency and trying to search for a previous candidate who interviewed well isn’t always easy. This makes it harder to re-engage with people who could be a strong match for a new job opening.
  • Although the platform is very user friendly as far as ease of use and intuitiveness it can be VERY slow at times. There are days where the system moves at a snails pace and when there are multiple clicks to have to get to a specific spot in the system this can be very frustrating. This is especially try for navigating through job postings and candidate details.

Return on Investment

  • By streamlining job postings and candidate tracking Paycor Recruiting has helped shorten the average time to fill for our job postings from an average of 45 days days to 32 days (for certain job postings). This is due to the efficiency of the system when moving candidates through the pipeline.
  • Recruiting costs have lowered due to the systems ability to post openings to multiple job board from one central location. This takes a lot of the administrative burden off recruiters and saves us time on manual follow ups and agency fees.
  • Higher quality candidates! The tools Paycor Recruiting offers has provided the recruiters with a more effective form of evaluation. This leads to more informed decisions which results in better quality hires. When people stay longer this reduces turnover related costs.
