Paycom Review

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it for payroll primarily. What it really helps us do though is give us central data, paperless data for performance reviews, disciplinary conversations, any kind of documentation. We've been able to reduce anywhere from around 10 file cabinets down to three because we're able to store much more information in Paycom now. In addition to, we can do online vacation requests, which makes it easier for our managers and our employees.

Pros

  • Before Paycom we were using Paylocity and in about six months of running payroll with Paylocity, we never once had 100% accuracy from a payroll standpoint. So we had disgruntled employees because either their time was off or their pay was off. With Paycom, we've never had a case where our payroll was not 100% accurate.

Cons

  • Our only con, which we haven't experienced lately was just more from a customer service, a backend support standpoint. When the system was new to us, we had a payroll person that had been there for a long time, had been processing payroll through paper and it was hard for her when she had questions to get ahold of our customer service representative. At the time, that hasn't been an issue over the past few years, but initially that was probably our biggest con with Paycom.

Return on Investment

  • I don't know if I can quantify it with a number, but obviously just the automation has helped tremendously in reducing any kind of errors that we've had previously, either doing payroll through paper or with Paylocity. We had consistent errors with them. Where here, I don't know that I can quantify it with a number necessarily, but the errors have been reduced tremendously by using Paycom versus Paylocity or processing it manually.

I use Paycom for multiple parts of my job. This includes recruiting, clocking in & out, and using the background check dashboard. Paycom has helped my job run very smoothly and it is all in one software product.

Pros

  • I love the different colored flags when looking at resumes.
  • Creating reports for employees is fast and easy.
  • I love the text message feature to message potential applicants.

Cons

  • When finalizing Self Onboarding, the tax part always says its invalid.
  • On the email in Talent Acquisition the refresh can be off by multiple hours.
  • Background checks will say it will be done "Today" but not finish for a week.

Return on Investment

  • Time saved with using one singular software
  • Reduced software
  • Employees having a easier time with computers because of the easy to use software.

Success with Paycom

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use the wide product suite, from On-boarding to retirement or termination. Currently we launched IWant to employees to have a better understanding of Paycom and it processes. They have taken to it well and time and resources have been currently raised for HR. For our employees who punch in and out daily, IWant has aided them in their questions as well. Overall IWant has been a very good help in freshening up resources for the Hr team
