Most of Our employees are hourly employees and they are required to punch in and out, including meals and breaks, we also use Paycom for processing all of our employees' payroll. Prior to Paycom the application on our phones was not helpful as well.
Pros
Payroll
Time keeping
Great mobile application

as a manager I love the on-the-go manager section of the mobile application. I have been away when payroll needs to be approved and it is a breeze to be able to approve employee time cards on the go. Including mine. I just did think of something about something that may or may not need improving, but as excempt employees, it is a bit of a pain to have to approve my time card. THat was a big change for us. since we never had to do that before.
Our payroll coordinator is truly our Paycom guru and so we use it for processing payroll. We run our benefits through it. We use it for messaging for our employees. We are trying to find new uses for it every day.
Pros
We've had great customer service throughout our implementation process. We just finished up implementation truly, and we're passed off to the next level of team for maintenance and we just really had a great experience with implementation
Cons
I don't think that we've really seen anything specific. Everything that we've come across is handled so quickly that we haven't run into anything where I can think of

Working in manufacturing, we have several employees who do not have email addresses through our company, and so utilizing Paycom, we're able to share messaging, we're able to roll out policies, things like that within the system where they're already comfortable using it because they're in there checking on their paychecks and things like that. So we've really found that that's quite beneficial for us and more than we had expected.
We chose Paycom because we want to see greater visibility into our staffing numbers, who's present, how many people are on our teams, how we're building our teams and keeping our numbers where they need to be. It gives us just cleaner access to reporting, a lot of that stuff. And just our employee onboarding process is a lot easier when we do through a Paycom versus the old system of filling out 27 papers.
Pros
Their customer service since implementation through the decision making process. And then when we decided to go with Paycom and implementation, the customer service has been phenomenal. Everybody we've worked with has been really knowledgeable and helpful and look for answers. If they don't have them, they're very responsive to emails and calls and really want us to get everything that we can out of it. And so they really work hard to make sure you know what you're doing and that you're getting the best out of it that you can. So that's been amazing.
Cons
I haven't noticed anything yet. It's so much better than our previous system that as we're learning, it's more of a learning curve than a system gap. If I have an issue, it's because I don't know quite what I'm doing yet and not necessarily that the solution doesn't exist. So as time goes on, I might notice things, but right now I'm like, I just need to know how.
Likelihood to Recommend
Some of their analytics. Just being able to pull that instantly for my supervisors to see who's here right now. That's good.

Time tracking, employee record keeping, garnishments, workers' comp. Applicant tracking was something new for us, so we're learning that. So it's basically the recruiting, paying the people, retention, performance action plans, documenting conversations and reporting for finance.
Pros
I would say making sure that we're compliant with any changes that happen in the laws, especially the tax increases for SDA in different states. Not having to think about it. They actually do it for us. One thing I think they do particularly well is their implementation. The fact that they walk you through handhold. You always there for questions you have, no matter how many times you've asked them or help me do this, Paycom reconciles the data you pull in. Which to me is huge because our provider did not do that. It was basically, we just put what Paycom gives us and that's it. So they actually invest in you to make sure that your program and the implementation of what you want is going to work for your company. And if it doesn't, they fix it. How do we do this? Okay, well let me show you how to do this or let me change that. So very accommodating to our needs.
Cons
Probably just setting up how to set up certain policies like time off policies, explaining it more rather than them just doing it. Just kind of giving you a walkthrough. So if you have to add a new one, I mean I know I can always call them. I'm kind of a hands-on person that likes to do it myself. I do like the tutorials. I know it's only in Spanish, but maybe other languages would help for the training videos for our employees. I mean I like the Spanish, that's great, but we have Vietnamese employees and also if we want to take it to Canada for French or anything like that.

So if you could think of situations or scenarios where you think Paycom would be a really good fit from that type of organization or their company or needs or if there's areas where situations, scenarios that you think Paycom might not work so well.
So I am learning and development for the enterprise and we are going to be using Paycom Learning for all of our offerings. We're taking content out of our current LMS and putting it into Paycom LMS. And then we're also going to be utilizing all of Paycom's subscriptions and offerings so that we can use those that are already built and create learning paths with those as well. We're definitely trying to use automation as well. Right now we don't have anything like that. Our current LMS doesn't have any type of automation or anything, so Paycom has a lot of features that add a lot of value to L&D and the entire company too.
Pros
The app, for one, it's very intuitive. The interface is easy to navigate. I only use it just for L&D and then also for putting in my time. But I think the features of the entire program itself are great. I mean, I didn't make the decisions. I came in just learning about it and then I'm learning more about how to use it on the L&D side.
Cons
If anything, more of the L&D side, more of the training side on enablement, because we have people coming in and when I started it took them a long time to just get to me. So I would've loved to have some self-directed learning that I could have already been looking at and prepping myself for. So when we have our enablement, I already have some background knowledge on what to expect or how to build a learning path or how to put in things. Just probably some things like that. But other than that, I mean I think they've been doing a fantastic job.
Likelihood to Recommend
Well, I can only speak for L&D and it's well suited because the automation, it's well suited because every technician, every employee in the company can utilize the app as well as the web version as well. It's very intuitive. Like I said, the interface, it's great navigation. So those are great features.
Paycom is the main functionality, time and attendance. Also the benefits administration. Beti is amazing. Absolutely amazing by far the best thing Paycom has ever done.
Pros
Okay, so we'll talk about Beti and the automated payroll functionality. Having the check review for employees has been, giving them that transparency and just seeing their pay, has been huge in our organization. So truly appreciate the rollout of Beti.
Cons
I wouldn't say the functionality necessarily, it's more when changes are made, they're not communicated to our client service team so they're not aware of them and they'll impact our whole organization. And then it takes days to resolve. We've also had a lot of turnover. We've had seven different client service reps in the past seven years. It would be nice to have a little consistency in that regard, but I understand you guys are growing and everything, it's just kind of hard on the client.
Likelihood to Recommend
I like the upgrades you guys have done to the notification center. I think it's to do schedule notifications has been great. I like the news ticker. We're not huge fans of the position management functionality. It just didn't work for us.

We have payroll in there. We have our benefits admin. We are integrating our ATS and our L&D in there currently and surveys. So I'm pretty sure we bought all of the packages that Paycom has to offer and we're slowly integrating all of the add-ons basically. But we have payroll in there now, benefits now, expenses will be one of them as well. So we're all in. So it's exciting.
Pros
Just the usability of it. I mean it's literally so streamlined and how we communicate it to our employees. It's a one-stop shop. They can have all of their pay stubs in there, they can change their contact information, have their benefits information in there, and soon we're going to have our performance reviews in their training. Because before we had separate platforms for every single thing, so it was hard for employees to remember their login in their email and their password, and if they have any problems with that, then they call us. And then it's just another thing for us to do, change your passwords, like that whole thing. So we wanted to alleviate that and provide a one-stop shop for all of our employees.
Cons
Definitely the benefits implementation. That was extremely rocky and it lasted way too long, which it was kind of on both sides because we came from an in-house, not a bin admin system, but an in-house payroll system. So a lot of the things we kind of manipulated and we can manipulate or we could, and it was just we didn't have to change a lot of things. But with the admin implementation, there were a lot of nuances. Like with the BEP, a lot of our executives had separate benefits plans that they had covered, whereas others, so we had to create whole separate beeps. And then also some of our short-term disability rates didn't transfer over. And then how we did payroll back in our in-house was we had a semi-monthly in real time, that's how we paid. So we had to completely change that. We did biweekly in arrears, so that was a big change for our employees on top of all the other changes.
And so that also changed all the benefits side of it too, like the introductions and accruals and all of that good stuff. So it was very painful for a little bit. And I will say the benefits implementation service rep that we had initially, he didn't ask for all the information up front. It was just okay, especially for membership, give me a spreadsheet for dependents, gave me a spreadsheet for the beneficiaries and that was it. So there were a lot of things months later that we could have provided upfront and it made the process so much longer. And therefore we had terminated our old benefits admin system and we were still working out the kinks in Paycom and we had a hard deadline for that. And so we then had to manually enter in all the ads, changes and terminations into our carrier system for two months because the Ben admin system wasn't set up yet and the file fees weren't set up yet. That was a whole different thing. The file fees were a nightmare set up, but we got it all figured out. It was a hard couple months, but we got it working and now we don't have any problems. So it was a rocky experience for the admin. Admin, payroll, not so much. And then now we're kind of into it with our ATS and L&D.

I mean, just in the everyday employee life, I feel like we mentioned earlier, it is a one-stop shop, so it's very easy for the employees to just go in there and get all the information that they need and not have to go to all these different avenues, not suited. I will say one example that we have, we're an HVAC, so a lot of our employees are billable, so their pay is applied to jobs. So that didn't really make sense in the Paycom system. So we have a separate system for that and we have to upload their hours into Paycom. So that is a challenge more for our payroll team, and it didn't really make sense to have that. I don't think Paycom can support that. And that's just maybe just an industry thing because I know a lot of people don't have billable workers, but that was something that we saw.
We use it obviously for pay for PTO tracking, for our benefits administration. We use the performance forms mainly for pay changes and stuff like that.
Pros
I don't have any issues, so it's not like I have to call them every time I try to submit payroll. So their software just seems to work. Their customer service is good when I do have a reason to call them, so that's why we've stuck with them. We left our last company because their customer service was not good.
Cons
Their tax department, any issues I've had over the years have been payroll tax related. We have employees in several states and setting up those states and making sure those things are correct is where the most issues have come up. And trying to talk to somebody that actually works with those taxes. You can't do, you have to talk to your rep who then relays and then by the time it gets back to you. So more direct. I mean with the other company I did have a tax person and a general person that I knew I had a different department I could call if that was the issue.
Likelihood to Recommend
I'd recommend this to companies for their payroll. Anybody who needs payroll.
So we use it to hire employees, also for benefits enrollment, to do the I-9 certification and all of that, to pretty much everything. Everything that we do, we do it in Paycom.
Pros
I like the reporting. I like how we can choose exactly what we need for reports.
I also like that the hiring process is very smooth, sending the onboarding to the new hires and then being able to hire them very smoothly.
I like the PAF system too, making personal changes. I mean, once you learn this, how to work the system, it's pretty easy, you have to create your position, then your position feed, and then process your personnel change. I like that a lot.
Cons
So when we put somebody on leave, you have to be very careful because it asks for an end date. But if you put an end date, then you have the employee, it's already, he's not back yet, but you have an end date on the leave. So I think if you're putting somebody on leave, it shouldn't request the end date because then it's stamping the form three. Another thing is that sometimes maybe there's something wrong with the I-9 and we cannot reassign it. We have to assign a correction even though it's the first day of the employee, there's no way to remove it or fix it. We just have to process that correction. Sometimes I feel like the specialist is not very aware of the issues that may come up. They always have to check with their developers and we have to wait for an answer. So maybe more training for them. Sometimes we find the solution before we get it. Maybe more testing on their end to be more prepared when we reach out for questions.
Likelihood to Recommend
They should be more prepared for when we reach out for questions, but then overall Paycom works pretty well.
