We wanted to know which types of landing pages we had were performing better than others. The AB testing feature helped us figure it out by showing us traffic and objective metrics that proved that one page layout and version of copy was better than another. Would recommend to all.

Pros

  • AB Testing
  • Analytics
  • Ecommerce

Cons

  • Too expensive.
  • Personalization
  • AI

Likelihood to Recommend

Best for landing pages and email, really helps to build customized emails that drive awareness and engagement.

Optimizely Content Marketing Platform for beginners

Rating: 7 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We had a recent CMS migration to Optimizely Content Marketing Platform. Optimizely Content Marketing Platform, in terms of different capabilities, is way more accessible - from e-commerce, to locator tool, to content management. It seems like everything is pre-connected, and could also be integrated with other tools for Digital Asset Management. As a business targeting both B2B and B2C, a diverse and wide-range of reach and capabilities is a requirement.

Pros

  • Content Management
  • E-commerce
  • Location Finder

Cons

  • Pre-set promotion rules are limited
  • Caching issue
  • Integration caching

Likelihood to Recommend

Easy to manage and update web content. Adding copies, images, and other assets is easy. Pre-designing/customizing layouts and blocks are also possible. Can be integrated with PIM and DAM.

however, localizing/copying to different locales takes a while, as it can only be done on a per page basis - and sometimes takes a while

Optimizely Content Marketing Platform: The Answer To Our Content Operations Prayers

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Optimizely Content Marketing Platform as our single source of truth to govern the content lifecycle from ideation to distribution and analysis. We have used other tools in that past that were not as customizable or able to scale with our changing needs and speed of innovation. One of the most important aspects behind the decision to move to Optimizely was to use CMP as a springboard for the initiative of operationalizing content across all departments, and audiences.

Pros

  • Automated Workflows
  • Custom Integrations
  • Access Controls & Role Permissions
  • Proofing & Reviewing
  • Content Filtering

Cons

  • Strategic Onboarding & Implementation
  • Task & Notification Management
  • Content Search

Likelihood to Recommend

Optimizely Content Marketing Platform is great for working cross functionally which is often done on an integrated marketing team. It gives all the necessary collaborators visibility that is customizable to their level of involvement. I love that you can "watch" or keep an eye on assets while keeping a to-do list within the task manager.

Flexible workflows that allow for easy changes

Rating: 7 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Optimizely Content Marketing Platform as a project management and content production tool primarily for our content team. We have a mix of 20 users, including in house content creators and external freelancers and agencies using the platform. We use CMP to keep track of content production and serve as a single source of truth for the entire content creation process.

Pros

  • Content-specific workflows help track what stage of development content is in
  • Flexible workflows that allow for easy changes
  • VIsual calendar showing when content is coming out

Cons

  • Inability to export an easy-to-use calendar for non CMP viewers
  • Creates confusion about task end dates vs publication dates
  • Insufficient reporting obtainable by customers directly -- usage, production times, etc.

Likelihood to Recommend

Optimizely Content Marketing Platform is well suited to a team looking for a single source of truth for content assets. It's most effective when an entire marketing organization uses it, which we have not been able to accomplish (yet). It's very well suited for content creators and editors and has good integrations with Microsoft Office and other tools.

Optimizely keeps teams organized!

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I am a writer for a publisher that uses Optimizely for its corporate clients. The goal of Optimizely is to provide an easy platform on which they can manage all aspects of the content creation process in one place and allow multiple stakeholders to weigh in as needed.

Pros

  • Easy to format.
  • Easy to add photos.
  • Easy to comment.

Cons

  • Sometimes the track changes doesn't work.

Likelihood to Recommend

It works well as a place to manage content among large teams. However, it also works for small teams with just one reviewer or approver, which is good in many situations. By tagging them, it's easy to let people know when it's their turn in the process.

A great tool for collaborating on content creation.

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Optimizely to manage content creation, such as ads, literature, social media, and marketing. It keeps everyone on track and accountable for their work. Being able to edit content within the platform as well as see where tasks are at and what's coming up is valuable to us; before using this platform, we were primarily relying on emails, shared documents, and spreadsheets, which are a lot more demanding with minimal visibility.

Pros

  • Provides a transparent overview of work.
  • Keeps employees accountable.
  • Ensures tasks don't stall.

Cons

  • Comments in work documents aren't apparent unless you edit the doc within Optimizely & can be missed.
  • Having 2 places to attach files within a task can be confusing.
  • I don't like being made a watcher on tasks automatically.

Likelihood to Recommend

We use Optimizely a lot to create ads from the initial brief to edits & approval & distribution; it's great because we can add external people, such as our agency, into tasks to work together efficiently to create the vision without long email chains & turnaround times. We prefer to initiate some product-related content outside the platform if extensive changes need to be made.
