We had a recent CMS migration to Optimizely Content Marketing Platform. Optimizely Content Marketing Platform, in terms of different capabilities, is way more accessible - from e-commerce, to locator tool, to content management. It seems like everything is pre-connected, and could also be integrated with other tools for Digital Asset Management. As a business targeting both B2B and B2C, a diverse and wide-range of reach and capabilities is a requirement.
Pros
Content Management
E-commerce
Location Finder
Cons
Pre-set promotion rules are limited
Caching issue
Integration caching

Easy to manage and update web content. Adding copies, images, and other assets is easy. Pre-designing/customizing layouts and blocks are also possible. Can be integrated with PIM and DAM.
however, localizing/copying to different locales takes a while, as it can only be done on a per page basis - and sometimes takes a while
I am a writer for a publisher that uses Optimizely for its corporate clients. The goal of Optimizely is to provide an easy platform on which they can manage all aspects of the content creation process in one place and allow multiple stakeholders to weigh in as needed.
Pros
Easy to format.
Easy to add photos.
Easy to comment.
Cons
Sometimes the track changes doesn't work.
Likelihood to Recommend
It works well as a place to manage content among large teams. However, it also works for small teams with just one reviewer or approver, which is good in many situations. By tagging them, it's easy to let people know when it's their turn in the process.
We have separated it from MKT Content and EX (Employee Experience) Content. From the MKT side, there are social media posts, email designs, web page content, invitations, and printable promotional content. From the EX side, there are social media and internal posts, printable promotional swag, and content. The Optimizely Content Marketing Platform helps us address the workflow of people involved in each task, ensuring that everything produced is brand-aligned in text and art and approved by the people responsible for it. I believe we produce between 10-30 items of stuff each week, and we mainly use the brief, and text editor for everything.
Pros
Workflows are great, everyone on it can really see the produced content
Calendar Plan, is really helpfull in scrums,
Assignments lets us understand if someone is over assigned with stuff (specially in design), and let us realocate sources
Library looks better now too
Cons
Library. Eventhough it has improved a lot! There's still a need of having something similar to the planner list view of folders. That'll be extremly helpfull
I used the AI Text provided by Optimizely Content Marketing Platform once or twice and it wasn't really good. We use Grammarly as it let us train the AI with our brand language, and is super easy to use.
The conection with Social Media Platforms is not the best, and that's why we have deactivated that functionality and manually upload stuff to our social media. (LinkedIn-Twitter-Instagram- Glassdoor-TikTok)
Likelihood to Recommend
Well suited: Excellent for posts (social media or internal) as it allows a thorough review of each department head, such as marketing and design.
Less Aproppiate: The email functionality is not optimal and requires improvement to better suit our needs. It currently displays information inaccurately and lacks automation for necessary updates.

We use it to track our work requests. If we need to submit a brief about content validation or design approval it helps us to be on track and notifies in case there are any missing steps. It helps us track and see the volume of requests that come in and assign it to the right person.
Pros
Tracking activity progress
Work assignment
Necessary fields to help make our request descriptive
Cons
People should be able to get a notification about a conversation without doing @
Not have the option to upload multiple files - self replace if a new file is uploaded
Ability to edit documents in the tool
Likelihood to Recommend
Its a great tool to track work requests and keeps you on the top with the deadline notifications, however it is not suitable when you have multiple deliverables in one project. If I need to get one deliverable it works efficiently, but if I have different aspects to a work request it might not work efficiently.
I use Optimizely Content Marketing Platform to run A/B testing for my website to understand which aspects users are liking and more inclined towards. From the results, I am easily able to identify potential changes I need to incorporate in my platform in collaboration with development team to bring out the best customer experience.
Pros
It is intuititve for seasoned professionals as well
Quick to set up on different use cases
It is able to perform well in case of heavy traffic on website as well
Cons
User interface could have been more detailed, seems boring a bit
Test reports sometimes becomes cluttered in case of many data points
Difficult to get started for new users
Likelihood to Recommend
Optimizely Content Marketing Platform is well suited for use cases where professionals wants to run multiple scenario based A/B test results to identify major segments/cohorts for improvement from which the business can benefit from. It is not well suited for end to end analysis of the results in standalone manner as reports could become cluttered, saturated and diffciult to understand in case of heavy user data.

NewsCred is a great tool that we use to align marketing resources to each content request. We are able to track progress, initiate new requests, archive content, and sync to other platforms.
Pros
User-friendly experience.
Organized and customizable platform.
Cons
Making edits for content can be done in different places and should be easier to use.
Allow for custom permission sets.
Likelihood to Recommend
NewsCred is the perfect fit for marketers, but not the best platform for sales enablement.
Our content marketing team uses Newscred with our content management system to create and edit blog posts and share social media related to those blog posts. We also work with NewsCred staff to contract with freelancers and get syndicated content to fill any gaps we might have in publishing content to our blog.
Pros
Customer Service: They'll contact you with a "we're looking at your issue" email within the hour, even on weekends and holidays. Beyond solving your issues/problems with the software, they'll also follow up later to make sure you don't have additional associated issues.
Live Analytics: You're given a snapshot of how your blog content is doing at any point in time, since they've been tracking your posts/content. You can compare this month's traffic to last year's trafffic during this same month. Other data points include: Unique Visitors, Average Attention Time, Pageviews, Engagement Rate, etc...and you'll even get referral traffic source. There's much more that I'm leaving out here.
CMP User Interface (UI): Love the easy to use interface to upload blog posts, to use for editing and publishing content, and broadcasting social shares. Besides easily identifiable icons, you can create/edit content in the WYSIWYG or use the html view to make sure everything looks exactly how you prefer. Another cool thing is that the CMP auto-embeds live links of social updates (like Youtube, Twitter, Instagram) for more dynamic blog posts.
Cons
Cutting and pasting into the CMP can bring in some weird html and spacing issues and sometimes even with the auto-embedded social shares. This is an issue with freelancers, more than with in-house writers, but needing how to read/handcode html means only a few people on our team can prep and "fix" weirdness in the content.
It'd be great if custom modules had the same WYSIWYG functionality. We had NewsCred create an area where we write an intro, to "personalize" each post to our brand voice. But, it requires the person writing the intro to know html, since the WYSIWYG feature is missing.
Likelihood to Recommend
Well-suited to large company blogs, like our company, a global SaaS. We have various blogs, in various languages, that use NewsCred to update to all our respective blogs. It's a great way to silo our different blog content, but also to peep at each other's content to repost to respective blogs. NewsCred is awesome in this context, but wouldn't be as useful to a one-person shop that only publishes original brand content. The platform is also great for organizations that need to supplement content with freelance writers and syndicated posts.
NewsCred is being used in one department at my agency to my knowledge. This software is one of our client's content management system, and is used to publish and organize blog posts. It helps us write the blog posts instead of hard coding them. There are capabilities to go into the HTML and edit that code.
Pros
Easy to use
Useful functions
Great customer service
Cons
Too basic
Limited functionality
Unorganized
Likelihood to Recommend
The NewsCred content management system is definitely best suited for companies looking for an extremely basic CMS system. If a business has very simple blogs posts with little formatting required, this is the ideal system. However, for businesses looking for something more complex or flexible, I would not recommend this software.
I’ve been using Optimizely Content Marketing Platform to manage everything from campaign briefs to final reporting. We also use it for blog submissions and consent tracking with CMP.
Pros
i like that I can structure everything—briefs, dialogue, assets—all in one place
the workflows and templates really help when we’re managing content across two continents
the direct contact with the Optimizely team is great—they actually listen and act on our feedback, like with Task Templates
Cons
it's not very flexible when I need to make quick changes
it was very challenging to set up at first
Likelihood to Recommend
Optimizely Content Marketing Platform is for teams who juggle multiple campaigns or have to collaborate across time zones, because it’s helped us stay organized and meet deadlines more easily. Although there’s a bit of a learning curve, but once you're in, it’s smooth, so I recommend it.
