Iterable leads the way with segmentation personalization AI and happy engaged power users

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

As marketing manager at OneVision Resources (6/22-6/24), I was a power user of Iterable, activating it to send upwards of 30,000 emails per month for welcome sequences and full client lifecycle support. We used it to prevent churn, to keep the clients of our partners aware of additional services, etc.

Pros

  • Extremely friendly interface that makes work pleasant daily (power) users
  • Fantastic customer account managers and client support
  • Up-to-date uses of AI balanced with creative tools for marketers

Cons

  • It's hard to think of any down sides ...
  • Anything that is missing usually gets routed to the Product department at Iterable, where it is seriously considered (as I have seen in customer roundtables to which I've been invited)

Return on Investment

  • Using Iterable played a significant role in our 10x growth in a period of months, during which we pivoted the product
  • My CEO calculated a lifetime customer value of $11m over the 2 years that I used Iterable

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Iterable is used in my organization as the primary means of transactional, blast, triggered, ad hoc, communication, marketing and messaging to our leads, former members and current customer member base. We use several domains to send from with retail, and in center. Our use case is to provide relevant, timely and personalized information on upcoming products, promotions, information and transactional membership information for our 1 million plus members across the Americas.

Pros

  • Building emails
  • Selecting audiences
  • Creating journies
  • Highly engaged messaging
  • Timely and relevant content
  • Understanding when to send purchase information
  • Understanding send frequency

Cons

  • Removing bad emails
  • Increasing sender reputation
  • Offloading projects to automation
  • Minimizing space for cleaning up unsused data

Return on Investment

  • We've had a slight decrease in overall CTR
  • Seen a significant increase in retail revenue YoY, 100% increase
  • We've seen a 60% increase in classes reserved via email

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Iterable to communicate with our customers via marketing messages, transactional messages, and SMS. We find the flexibility to implement the solution that fits the needs of the message, personalization, or multi-step workflow is much greater with Iterable than with our previous email platform.

Pros

  • Iterable's customer support, both through the account manager and their live chat and email responses, is great.
  • The flexibility with third-party integrations made getting our project off the ground fairly simple.
  • The handlebar logic that can be used within the templates was much easier to understand than on some other platforms.

Cons

  • The SMS integration with Twilio is confusing at times, and without direct access to an SMS management interface is limiting.

Return on Investment

  • This is a hard thing to qualify with the short amount of time we have had on the platform and with the changes that have occurred since onboarding. iOS 15 was released, so we are learning new ways of measuring the ROI.
  • The ease of integration with other tools has helped us begin to break into more personalized emails for our customers. We have really only scratched the surface and have so much farther to go!

Iterable User Feedback

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We utilize Iterable to orchestrate our customer journey from first signup through their entire lifecycle. They allow us to create automated and behavior based communications with our audience as well as scheduled campaigns to predetermined segments. We're able to quickly and easily communicate through a variant of channels including email, push, in-app notifications, and embedded messages.

Pros

  • Customer Journey creation - the platform easily creates a visual path for the marketing team to curate messaging based around timing, channel, behavior as well as add split testing logic and exit criteria so we target only the audiences we want.
  • Customer Success - one of the best teams I've ever had the pleasure of working with. I'm able to move so much quicker because they really create a helpful partnership.
  • Audience segmentation, the platform is easy to work with even if you're a first time user, they do a great job of visually showing the logic and the and/or/none type rules.

Cons

  • KPI tracking, it's hard to always attribute the correct conversion with the right marketing channel.
  • Keeping journey data out of campaign data - more a visual thing but I wish it wasn't even an option to show up there.
  • They have a dashboarding tool but it's sort of buried and I don't use very much though I'd like to use more.

Return on Investment

  • Great ROI, for the cost we're getting amazing value out of the product. We couldn't do much of our marketing without it.
  • This is one of our best tools to drive customer retention. It's hard enough to get a customer to your product in the first place but Iterable helps us get those customer to keep coming back time and time again.
  • Testing functionality, we've ramped up our testing with our own ML tools to pair with Iterables AI tools to power up our customer engagement strategy.
