Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I have used ADP Workforce Now at two companies. The first, we implemented ADP Workforce Now as we acquired international companies. The software helped the HR side of the transition go smoothly (and helped the HR team from going mad). The implementation team and support were knowledgeable, helpful, patient.

Now, I use ADP Workforce Now in a small company, where I am the whole department. Trusting that payroll is correct - that laws are watched and action is taken to update processes, deductions, what-have-you as those changes occur is such a relief. I use the recruitment feature which allows me to enter all the details ONCE and boom - we are posted everywhere. I love The Bridge to answer quick questions and discuss issues with fellow HR people.

I have used several systems over the years and recommend ADP Workforce Now above all others!

Easy reporting - especially building custom reports

Cons

I wish I could edit our shift premiums
The vacation accrual does not always happen automatically
Some details of "how" things work are hidden and you have to call to dig in. I like to solve much myself.

Return on Investment

Saving time and money by posting to multiple job sites at once.
Saved a few thousand dollars a year by going paperless for checks.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In our organization, ADP Workforce Now serves as the central HRIS platform, supporting multiple areas of human resources and payroll. We use it for core HR functions including employee data management, payroll processing and time/attendance tracking. One of my favorite features of the platform is the Field Grabber functionality. It allows us to capture and pull custom data fields that go beyond the standard reports, giving us flexibility and precision in our reporting. My second favorite aspect is the Data Analytics capability—the ability to generate graphs and charts, apply filters, and visualize information in a clear and actionable way is extremely valuable.

Labor Allocation (Allocations make payroll reporting very hard to review and find any errors )

Pay Classes (should be able to change at Practitioner level rather than reach out to support)
Cookies and Cache have to be cleared on a regular basis
Only able to see employee documents/acknowledgements one at a time in the employee file
Timecards can only be managed/viewed by 1 person
Timeoff emails do not have a link
Cost per payroll - not just monthly fee so cost with off cycle payrolls
Separate I9 step not needed - during onboarding - 2nd Everify step
ADP Workforce Now does not pull in allowances for Houly employees into payroll ONLY Salaried employees

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

At TS, ADP Workforce Now is used for HRIS, Recruitment, Onboarding, Performance Reviews, Payroll, Tax and Banking, and Time. We made the decision ten years ago and have no desire to change. Although there can be issues and struggles, ADP does stand on its word to address issues and correct them. I have had colleagues try other vendors and quickly wish they were back with ADP. I'm also part of a client advisory board, and I can tell you that ADP and their leadership strive every day to address what is needed for the client, what is next, how to make the product even better, etc. It is very eye-opening to see this side firsthand and comforting knowing they keep themselves to such high standards.

Pros

HRIS that is personalized for the employee and addresses DE&I needs.
Payroll, of course! The system addresses all needs, such as deductions, additional pay, premium OT, and shift differentials.
Onboarding is an excellent way to stay in compliance and have all documents completed.
Tax and Banking and resolution to any issues.

Cons

System wide issues such as "benefits" on app, "bug" notifications that are incorrect, reports not generating.
Better communication internally for file feeds to vendors.
Better set up of vendor file feeds - one-stop shop vs. different areas working on parts.

Return on Investment

ADP has definitely saved $ with employee work hours due to automation.
