I am an employee whose employer uses ADP Workforce Now for time/attendance and payroll/benefits.

Pros

All of my HR documents are in one single place
Requesting time off is extremely simple and easy.
Adjusting retirement strategies is simple and easy.

Cons

ADP's IRA selection options are limited (about 2 dozen or so funds available).

Likelihood to Recommend

ADP Workforce Now seems best suited for a company with multiple layers of managerial hierarchy. I suspect it is less appropriate for a flatter and smaller organization.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use ADP WFN for managing our employee's information, benefits, processing payroll, time and attendance, and time off policies. The product helps everything as mentioned be centrally located and connected. Also, it is very user friendly for our supervisors who do not typically use computers on a daily basis.

Too many updates that fix things that were not broken
Glitches or payroll errors that do not provide details as to what they are

Likelihood to Recommend

There is a large amount of customization you can do, however, you have to call in most of the time to have these things enabled or turned on, which can be frustrating because the hold time can be quite long. They recommend putting in a service request instead, however, this also can take a very long time to hear back from.

In my experience, we have not had a smooth implementation, and there has been a concern at every turn. I am finally in contact with the 5th or 6th person who claims that will help figure out the issues - this is after 4 years

We use ADP to process our payroll and utilize the different reports.

Pros

Calculate Payroll
Manage employees, new and existing.
Provides different reports for different things

Cons

Access to older reports exceeding a year
Personal profile page could have more items added
Easier access to a representative such as IM

Likelihood to Recommend

I do not any scenarios where it is less appropriate but it is very easy to maneuver. When I need to see if an employee is currently working, the option see is present on the employees job page and if they are are currently on LOA the start date is present there as well.

Our company uses WFN in all its capabilities. We use the payroll, benefits, the human capital, the document cloud, the onboarding, you name it, we use it. I am the main admin for the system and update all aspects of WFN for the company to use. We transitioned from a third-party payroll and the main issue was timely payroll and termination checks. The whole HR team loves working with WFN.

Pros

Their payroll module is amazing.
My current favorite is the onboarding module. It helps so much with documents for new hires and their basic payroll onboarding like direct deposit.
DocuCloud is another of my favorites because you have all documents in one place and don't have to go finding in different folders. You go straight to the employee and click on their doc file.

Cons

Under the things to do, there needs to be an easier and quicker way to click on all messages or notifications to mark them read.
On the holiday list, the system should allow for a change in the actual individual holiday when the holidays fluctuate, such as the 4th of July when it falls on Sat without messing with the prior years that have already passed. Or in the 2024 day after Thanksgiving.
On the talent side, the system always defaults to the screen of the person who used it last.
In payroll, the new Quickcalc can use some help.

We use WFN in full for all our payroll and HR needs. The biggest issue we face is that our system is not set up to support what we need. We do not have the option to track grants and have been told multiple times by multiple different people that something that should be very simple is impossible.

Pros

Friendly Customer Service.
The new home page is much easier to use and navigate compared to the classic view.
Quick to escalate problems with the software to tech support.

Cons

Unable to create the reports needed.
Has taken weeks to get someone to help me remap our GL.
Constantly being told no and or being transferred around to be told someone else handles it.
Not all associates know enough about the software to help with simple problems.
Training provided is not sufficient to complete tasks, too little detail.

Likelihood to Recommend

ADP has improved the WFN experience in recent years, which is a great upgrade! However, there are some kinks that still need to be worked out, and very little assistance in working them out as most customer service don't know an answer or transfer you around until you hang up.

Easy for tax paying, We use to get the link for directly submitting the tax. As an employee it becomes difficult to manage tax calculation using ADP it becomes easy. Gives all HR solution as required

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use ADP Workforce Now for payroll, employee onboarding, and benefits administration. We have several thousand per diem employees and a couple of hundred corporate employees. The needs of these employee populations are very different but ADP allows us to pay them all seamlessly in a single system. Payroll is their bread and butter. For ease of keeping to a single system, we decided to use the onboarding and benefits portals for our corporate team. At the time, it was the right decision but the setup took us one whole year to go live.

Pros

Cons

Customer service (Because the product offering is so vast it's extremely difficult to find the right subject matter expert who can actually answer your questions.)
Dependent and beneficiary options are limited (should include more than just spouse & child).
Would be nice if the onboarding allowed for the digital signature of documents (such as an employee handbook).

Likelihood to Recommend

If you need to process payroll frequently for several hundred employees and file various reports for tax/compliance purposes, ADP is a sound tool. If you are looking for a comprehensive employee onboarding solution, there are many more automated and advanced tools on the market. The benefits administration tools are decent once you have completed the implementation but mentally prepare yourself for the implementation to take several months longer than what you originally anticipated.
