TeamViewer is fine collaboration tool with some nice extra features.
Overall Satisfaction with TeamViewer
Within our company, TeamViewer is used for collaboration, recording tutorials, and remote access. It is used across half our departments and provides easy access and collaboration for our users. While we have many similar tools, this one is by far the favorite of my boss for its ease of use.
Pros
- TeamViewer is particularly convenient for collaborations and online meetings when something like Google Hangouts just isn't robust enough.
- An added bonus we've discovered is the ability to record a session as a quick and easy way to make instructional tutorials.
- The remote access feature is particularly nice so long as you secure it.
Cons
- TeamViewer could offer logs of remote access in a weekly report to make tracking of access easier.
- TeamViewer has added employee efficiency in the IT department and in management.
TeamViewer was more robust, professional and polished than the competition we checked out. We use TeamViewer for our remote meetings and to record quick toturials. We have been very pleased with its performance. Remote access is great and simple with Teamviewer. GoToConnect is a bit easier for my staff to do support sessions, unless we want to record the remote session, then we definitely use Teamviewer.

Evaluating TeamViewer and Competitors
- Product Features
- Product Usability
- Product Reputation
- Prior Experience with the Product
After using the tool to collaborate with a contractor, the management fell in love with the software. We've since started using it in the IT department more and more.
We would have tried out the free trial sooner had we known how useful this tool could be. We weren't aware of what we were missing.
TeamViewer Implementation
- Implemented in-house
Change management was minimal - We didn't have any issues and the integration was virtually seemless in our small organization.
- There really weren't any significant issues. In some cases a user didn't initially apply the key and their trial would run out.
TeamViewer Training
- no training
Yes, the product is very intiuitive. It is my boss's favorite remote access solution and option for recording demonstrations.
TeamViewer Support
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
Quick Resolution Good followup Knowledgeable team Problems get solved Kept well informed Immediate help available Support understands my problem Support cares about my success | None |
We do not currently have the premium support as Teamviewer is one of several tools we use. But the ease of teamviewer makes it my boss's favorite. What support we have used in the past was very quick and efficient and solving all our questions and problems. If we needed to add premium support for an issue, we would not hesitate to add it back in.

- Screen sharing and meeting setup.
- Remote access.
- Recording a meeting.
- Setting up remote access can be tricky at first, but easy once you figure it out.
Yes, but I don't use it
Upgrading TeamViewer
Yes - We've been through many upgrades with teamviewer. It went mostly smooth. Sometimes you can find a machine that did not get an upgrade and have to go back and get it updated to communicate, but other than that, it goes really well. We do not fear the dreaded suggestion to upgrade like some applications and tools.
Yes - We've gone from free to paid. The ease of use and power of the tools made making the jump really a no brainer. We have many tools available that are similar, but this one is by far the easiest and most used by my boss for remote access and recording demos.
