Overall Satisfaction with ON24

We are using ON24 as a solution to bring together various volunteer leaders across our state for leadership and development training, as well as to offer academic conferences for members around the globe.

Pros

  • Excellent presenter to audience delivery capability.
  • Ability to measure engagement of audience.
  • Ease of use for average audience member - no additional software needed.
  • Great registration and reminder tools.

Cons

  • Audience engagement is had to have beyond writing questions.
  • Breakout sessions and the like require connecting another service -such as Zoom.
  • Users can have poor experiences occasionally if not using Chrome as their web browser.
  • Able to reduce a number of historically in person events to exclusively virtual events.
  • Looking forward to the ability to host hybrid events - and potentially bring together broader audiences with live events.
  • Exploring ability to build a pipeline tool for membership development.
While we have not, as of yet, needed to scale beyond our current license agreement or broaden teams - the ability to do so for a larger organization is certainly present and quick. The support team's responsiveness gives fast insights into the business processes needed to move to the next level.
The major product that we evaluated that was similar to ON24 was Zoom Video Webinar - which provides similar functionality - but has the disadvantage of requiring additional software. As Zoom is also regularly used for meetings, members were confused when logging into the webinar and not having to set up the camera and audio each time. Finally, the automatic recording and flow through from the registration page for future engagements was key.
ON24 is well suited for an organization looking to deliver unidirectional content - such as a presentation to a large audience. It is less appropriate for scenarios that require more collaborative interaction of the presenter with the audience.
