Overall Satisfaction with monday.com

When we launched our small startup, we purchased or subscribed to a number of specialized software solutions. Within a year, we replaced many of those solutions with monday.com. We use it for just about everything we need to keep track of - client projects, invoices, budgeting, business planning, social media, and more. While we do use the notes and comment functions to communicate, we're big-time Slack users. Being able to integrate monday.com automations and integrations with Slack is a big win for us. I personally appreciate that you can use it via a web browser or a desktop app and that it looks, feels, and functions the same in either.

Pros

  • Integration and automation with other software such as Slack
  • Endless number of features available via third-party add-ons
  • Makes things very easy to organize

Cons

  • It would be nice if you could automatically mirror Status bars between main and sub-items
  • Add some more "Excel-like" features for financial boards or make it clearer how to use them if they already exist
  • In terms of automation/integrations to a specific Slack channel - we have to use integrations for Slack notifications for Items but have to set up automations for Slack notifications for sub-items. Confusing to have to do them two ways.
  • We've saved valuable time tracking complex creative projects
  • We gained a better financial understanding of our situation
  • Became more efficient workers
It is very, very easy to use for most cases. We also appreciate all the automated features and templates. However, some of the formatting and set up behind them is difficult to understand, re-create or customize for yourself.
We have not had to use monday.com support.

monday.com is really great for keeping track of and organizing just about anything going on in your small business. We use it to track invoices, do financial forecasting, estimate budgets for new hires, keep track of numerous items in complex projects and more. The communication tools and notes work well and are nice but we definitely still need programs like Slack.
