Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro to map out complex projects so that it is easy to track where we are in a process and know what steps need to be followed. This is helpful when collaborating as a team and ensuring that we meet project deadlines on time. Sometimes, I like to use Timelines in Notion, but Miro offers more flexibility in terms of thinking through the whole process, although I recommend building proper timeline functionality.

Pros

  • Flow diagrams.
  • Ideation with sticky notes.
  • Inserting documents onto canvases.
  • New AI summaries are great.

Cons

  • Better timelines.
  • Keep improving prototype functionality/designs.
  • Creating documents within Miro would be nice.
  • Improved productivity.
  • Improved alignment.
  • Good for documenting meeting outcomes.
Our team spans the US and South Africa. It has been great for virtual meetings. However, I don't see it as only a virtual tool. I think it can be great for collaborating in person and having each participant walk away with the same whiteboard to reflect on later.
Miro feels more straightforward to use than Figma, although Figma has much deeper prototyping functionality. I see them as different tools. Notion is better for storing documentation and creating timelines. Miro could do something here - places to store important documents, etc.- and potentially be more than a brainstorming tool.

Miro is great for collaboration and ensuring that team members have well-thought-out plans. I like to test my thinking around work that needs to be done around projects by mapping it all out on Miro. In addition, I think it is useful for tracking KPIs/OKRs—specifically showing how each project or action contributes to an objective.
