Overall Satisfaction with Avalara

Avalara is being used by the USA entity of our organization. It is used to calculate sales tax which is then displayed on our invoices via an integration with our ERP system. We also maintain tax exemption certificates using CertCapture and leverage AvaTax to compile and remit sales tax returns. The system reduces the human resource needs to comply with sales tax requirements.

Once the system is set up, it requires very little interaction. Our team spends most of their time managing tax exemption certificates in CertCapture and month-end reconciliation of the tax liability against our GL balance.
Avalara is well suited for an organization that has taxable nexus in multiple states. It reduces the need to stay abreast of the latest tax rates and if integrated with your ERP system can automatically add the appropriate sales tax to reduce manual effort in billing. Avalara is excellent for companies that are small with a high volume of sales across the country.
