We do not currently use Whova within my organization, my recent use of the site/app was limited to attendance at the [...] Midyear Legislative & Regulatory Conference in Washington DC last week (March 24th-March 27th). I registered on the app to follow the conference events, agenda, and easily connect with colleagues.
Pros
Creates easy & efficient connection opportunities (e.g. messaging) between industry colleagues across different organizations/entities.
Allows for personalization of conference events/agenda
Provides standardized platform for all event attendees along with updated alerts/notifications throughout event.
Cons
Create more options for 'opt-in/opt-out' opportunities with certain features, messaging, etc.

My experience and exposure with Whova is limited to a recent industry conference but served as an effective and easy to use tool for navigating the various events, educational sessions, and networking opportunities throughout the multi-day event.
My organization, Women's Fiction Writers Association, used Whova at out tenth annual conference. Having only ever used paper agendas, I loved using an app instead. Made it easy to create my own agenda from the events, find meetups of friends and colleagues, download materials from presentations.
Pros
Agendas
Meetups
Documents
Cons
Could be our group, but the meetups got a little overwhelming and hard to keep up with

So easy to find meetings on the agenda. Was even surprised to find a map of the hotel we were meeting at, as I couldn't find a room at one point!
Whova was used for our annual sales conference this year and worked amazingly. Aside from the expected results of having a platform for employees to use to know where and when to be at the conference's sessions, the ability to connect with the speakers, ask questions in the sessions that could be voted on so the speaker would address the most important all made the sessions more robust. The ability to also post pictures and comments also gave you the ability to make the conference more than just about topics but about the people attending. It was an easy to use solution that more than delivered.
Pros
Organizing agendas
open architecture for sessions (able to connect to speakers and to prompt questions)
Cons
Ability to comment or like a comment or picture.

Any conference environment would be a well suited use for Whova.
I used it during the 2022 HR Symposium sponsored by the SAHRMA. It made it easier to track my own schedule and still see that other options if I wanted to change it. Easy access to surveys -- maybe could have been linked to the calendar event for even quicker access.
Pros
intuitive app
easy to download
lots of options, like for facilitators to upload documents and for the attendees to take surveys
Cons
Even more convenient if could attach a link in the calendar event to the survey
Even more convenient if could attach a link to the documents uploaded by the facilitator for their calendar event
I used Whova at a recent industry conference, and it was great. It's usually difficult to find out where to go, but it was all laid out in the app and made it easy to navigate and stress-free. Also, I was networking with people constantly, and it was a lifesaver to be able to look up their name and organization and save it, so I could go back and review them later.
Pros
Made navigating the conference easy
Helped with finding names and organizations to help with follow up after networking
Cons
The search function was a little clunky, not bad, just felt a little awkward.
The layout of events was a little unclear. Again, it was fine, but it would have been nice to get a full picture of the day at a glance.

If someone I knew were organizing an industry conference or another type of event with multiple sessions and more than a hundred people, I would tell them to take a look at Whova. I was not excited to open it as these kinds of apps are usually buggy and useless, but I was impressed with Whova. It had a lot of good information and was easy to use.
We have used Whova as our event app at three events over the last two years. The app allows attendees and exhibitors to talk to each other. Our conference speakers are able to speak to the attendees before their presentations to get feedback on topics and issues that concern the audience. The attendees are very engaged in posting photos of friends, products they found interesting, and new vendors.
Pros
Connects attendees and exhibitors.
Allows migration of data from our registration system in real time.
Keeps our audience engaged in contests.
Cons
Lead gen through badge scanning.
Registration to eliminate third party vendor.
Accept payments.

Whova is fantastic for a tradeshow app where connection and networking are the top reasons for attending the event. I don't know where it is not appropriate as we've used it for two tradeshows and an executive conference without vendors and in both of the events the attendees rated the usefulness of the app as great.
Our company used Whova for our week-long in-person retreat. It helped us all stay [organized], interact with each other and access the most recent information we needed.
Pros
Ability to share photos
Ability to communicate with team members in an open discussion
Cons
nothing- I really enjoyed my experience with Whova

I loved that Whova is very organized and leaves room for expansive interaction between people. Whether it be a school event or a community event Whova is very useful in organizing any kind of event. It's especially useful in times such as these because it provides a virtual setting for the community.
