being able to announce things to the whole group or separately
Cons
the contact information should be able to be downloaded straight to our contacts on our iphone, it was frustrating to have to manually input each contact

We use Whova for our annual institute. It is a great place for all attendees to connect to each other. They message, post and share content. It's invaluable for pushing notifications to the attendees. We've been using it for a few years. After the typical technology push back by attendees, it's taken off. Really useful and robust platform for our conference. We have 1000 attendees.
Pros
Connect attendees
allow push notifications for announcements
Cons
The menu could be more concise. Sometimes there are too many layers.

Connecting and notifying attendees.

Whova is now a three-year active part of our Spring meeting of a (metal building) industry association. We introduced Whova to our members in 2020 to aid our need to go virtual, but without losing the critical interactivity of a face-to-face trade show/meeting. With 2022 being an in-person event, we carried the Whova app forward to enhance the experience, and it worked! The app interaction offered many solutions; car-pooling from the airport, like-minded groups (cigar and bonfires) meeting in the off hours, proposed questions for the "subject matter expert panel" session, etc. One problem that did arise is the excessive emails/notifications. Both to our work email addresses, and more within the app. We don't need an influx of emails or notifications for every action in the app. At one point I had over 300 notifications in the "community" section. Would be happy to have a functionality to choose which categories to be notified of additions/changes.
Pros
Ability to create, staff, and interact with a "virtual" Trade Show Booth, including gathering leads/prospects
Create respective chat groups for industry topics
Allow for multi level sponsorship branding, and metrics reporting
Generating an EXCEL report of all scanned prospects for follow-ups. Makes for easy dissemination to the respective sales team member for follow-up and opportunity close.
Cons
As mentioned; would like the ability to choose which activity notifications I respectively receive.
Would like to see the identifications of those categorized simply as "visits." In a live trade show, we step out of the booth space and interact with every person walking by. A listing of "54 visits" does not help in my marketing/sales strategy.

Whova played, and delivered, excellence as a virtual tool, and then elevated the in-person interactivity. Well Suited - interactivity between attendees. It is a simple, barrier-reduced path to connect/communicate with any and all attendees. Less Appropriate - the interactivity with the trade show portion attendees. As mentioned earlier, a listing of "54 visits" and no visibility to them is not helpful.
I recently used the Whova App to facilitate my attendance at the National Association of Workforce Associations in Washington D.C. The app performed flawlessly. The schedule, sessions, materials, and navigation all worked flawlessly! I wish other large group meetings used this app!
Pros
Schedule
Meeting synopsis
Panel qualifications and credentials
Mapping
Cons

I wish this app was the platform used by the National Association of Homebuilders at the yearly International Builders Show! The app we use there leave lots to be desired!
I use Whoova personally to attend big events that are now done virtually. It's really convenient and takes away the limitations in the number of participants allowed in online video conference platforms. Whova helps bridge the gap caused by the pandemic in terms of huge events like conferences. It also allows me to attends events that I wont normally get to attend since they are overseas.
Pros
Connect with other participants of the event
Allow huge number of people access to an online event at one time.
Cons
It would be great if the photos section would have a similar or optional set-up that looks like typical social media posts.
Likelihood to Recommend
Whova is perfect for virtual events that require large attendance.
