Backup and Restore

We use Veeam to back up VMware and stand-alone clients.

Data Recovery

Prior to Veeam Data Platform, we had no method of backing up these servers. By utilizing Veeam Data Platform, we can be assured that we have adequate backups of vital servers that help our company run day-to-day.

Configuration Complexity

The setup is very confusing. There are too many steps, locations, etc., to enter simple data such as an Azure storage account.

Please provide some detailed examples of areas where Veeam Data Platform has room for improvement.

From 27 reviews | Last Published May 31, 2026

Veeam Data Platform reviewers frequently identified several areas for potential improvement, with concerns about reporting and logging, and the platform's overall complexity and ease of use emerging as the most prominent issues. Support for Specific Platforms/Databases

I would like to see more documentation on how to use Veeam with Proxmox, as that is the platform we are moving to.

Performance Issues

The current setup seems overly complicated and is not very performant.

Reporting and Logging

I would like the ability to see more detail in the failure logs, as the reports from the Veeam Backup and Restore client aren't very helpful.

Please provide some detailed examples of things that Veeam Data Platform does particularly well.
