My goal was to use it to back up our secondary M365 tenant. It doesn't get a lot of use and has never been backed up, like our primary tenant. Although the secondary tenant receives little traffic I still felt like it should be as protected as the primary so I looked to VDC as the solution.
Pros
Comprehensive. Backs up all the M365 tenant data that I want to protect.
Contemporary. It has all the features that I expect in a cloud service backup solution.
Cost-effective: Has a decent price advantage over competitors without sacrificing value.
Cons
Onboarding was terrible to the point of failure. It was presented as being easy but wound up being a miserable experience.
Likelihood to Recommend
From my experience the solution scales well for a single tenant but for companies with multiple tenants management could quickly become complicated, especially if multiple I.T. support people all need access to handle restores. But if you're in a single tenant environment even with alot of accounts and mailboxes I think this solution could work well for you.

We are using Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 the sharepoint, teams and mail backup. Because Veeam is running this in the cloud the restore of data takes less time which is a huge advantage. Before we had the Veeam software on prem, therefore we had to maintain the server, storage and network connectivity which is now totally replaced by the cloud services. This is easier to manage and to maintain.
Pros
Backup and restore of mail and calendar items
Reports of all jobs
Backup and restore of all onedrive items
Backup and restore of sharepoint items
Also removed email items can be recovered
Backup and restore team chats and items
Cons
Backup of other cloud services like devops

We use Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 to store our Office365 backups which consist of Exchange Online, OneDrive, Teams and all of our SharePoint sites. The backups run once per day but there are times when we either add new sites or do backups manually right after significant changes to Exchange or OneDrive.
Pros
Backups are reliable, we do test restores on a regular basis and never had a problem
Backups are of course incremental so they are relatively fast
After each backup we get an email report showing what was protected
Cons
While restores are reliable, they are not fast because, in my opinion, MS is usually throttling the restoration of files
If we had a large amount of data deleted or damaged the restore would take a long time
The Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 software can't give accurate time to finish numbers because of, in my opinion, the throttling by MS
Likelihood to Recommend
The software is well suited to any organization that has business critical data in an Office365 tenant because even though in some cases Microsoft does do there own backups or there is a delayed delete, these are not nearly as reliable as purpose built backups. The only exception to this is the SharePoint recycle bin, we use that first if only 1 or 2 files were accidentally deleted before going to Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 to do a restore.
We use Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 Backup to ensure that we have a comprehensive data backup in the event that we need to restore a former users data easily or if we ever have a compromise in data on a system that would bring work down to a grinding halt.
