Also it have high licensing costs for small teams.

TeamViewer, Remote to the Future

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use TeamViewer to control and work on employees computers. We have about 15 remote workers and TeamViewer works great. We can install software, Chat, and pretty manage the whole computer with TeamViewer. It is great that we dont have to use VPN to connect to it can connect anywhere in the world with the ID and Password.

Pros

  • Fast and secure connection
  • Chat feature works well
  • Monitoring and Asset Management

Cons

  • I would like to be able to send commands in the background
  • It would be nice to have a backstage option to join with out user being aware
  • I would like to be able to send install jobs to computers with physically remoting on.

Likelihood to Recommend

I think the unattended feature is awesome. Working in IT and being able to control any one of our owned machines at any time is a must feature. This allows our Tech Team to remote and change settings on any PC with no external users input. This is great for employees who forgot password and cant get into the machine to allow my remote access. I don't think there is an areas that something would be less appropriate.

TeamViewer for the Win

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our IT and CAD support groups utilize TeamViewer to provide technical assistance and support to our end users in our hybrid work environment. TeamViewer allows us to connect remotely to their computers, laptops and tablets to see what they see first hand and more efficiently troubleshoot and fix any issues.

Pros

  • Ease of Use
  • Provides full control of endpoint remotely
  • easily reconnects after reboot
  • Flexible license management

Cons

  • Client hasn't changed much
  • Relies on endpoint client versus cloud center

Likelihood to Recommend

If you have a hybrid or work environment that are dispersed over a large geographic area, TeamViewer provides the technical support groups the ability to lend assistance to end users. TeamViewer gives a portal for the tech support personnel to remotely log into the computer and the end user can show them specifically what is occurring. The support person(s) can then take control and take the necessary steps to solve the issue(s).

TeamViewer comes highly recommended!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

At work, we use TeamViewer to address various IT related issues remotely. In my most recent cases I had some software issues and my coworker from IT was able to gain remote access to my company laptop to correct the software issues. TeamViewer gave my coworker full control of my laptop and my issue was resolved pretty quickly without having to physically take my laptop to our IT department.

Pros

  • Remote Access
  • Excellent Connectivity
  • Easy to download software
  • Excellent for companies with IT departments

Cons

  • Less download options - I was a little confused the most recent time I needed to download TeamViewer on my personal computer. I wasn’t very clear on which option to choose.
  • No other issues seen with this software for me. It works flawlessly from different places in the world!

Likelihood to Recommend

Based on my experience, TeamViewer is excellent for IT department to remote in to my company laptop to correct any software related issues that may occur especially when I am working remotely. I suppose it would be good for personal computers too if one could find a remote IT servicing person/company.
have also used TeamViewer recently to remote into another computer to show someone how to use another software and it was like I was on my own computer because the connection was so seamless.
TeamViewer is especially useful for people working on computer projects together remotely. TeamViewer brings people together into one workspace.

TeamViewer is at the top of it's class and a must have tool!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it to remote into end user computers for the company. We also have a select few users that are outside of IT that use TeamViewer Full Client for remoting into their desktops that work from home. Some occasions we use Teamviewer to run remote scripts and remote file browser but only if we are trying to fix things in the background without interrupting the user from their work.

Pros

  • Remote Console view to fix issues on users laptops
  • Auto config and auto install
  • Organization in UI of computers with TeamViewer installed
  • Easy to make groups of computers that others can access based on access controls

Cons

  • There are ads that pop every now and then. I get ads but not really on an already paid product
  • I wish you could do a batch script install. Where you could select multiple computers to run one script on at once, instead of one by one.
  • I wish you could edit users within the Desktop Client instead of having to go to the web app to manage.

Likelihood to Recommend

Overall TeamViewer is very reliable, and really easy to setup and use. Out of the 7 years I think TeamViewer only had network/server issues probably 3 times. The clients are secured with passwords for remote access (Multiple passwords can be set, for multiple people to be able to access). We use the program several times a day and is an essential software to have for us to give good and prompt customer service.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I would use teamviewer to transfer files, print documents at the office from a remote location, access files from my desktop on my laptop for reference or information needed that was not readily available on my laptop. I would also use it to correct PC issues with friends and family.

Pros

  • access files remotely
  • connect to anyone anywhere
  • works well over smaller bandwidth

Cons

  • easier connectivity to VPN systems within our company
  • security integration with my current security software

Likelihood to Recommend

Teamviewer was great when it was able to be used under a free service. In my opinion, cost and inability to integrate into our security software has made Teamviewer unable to be used

Fast Remote Software

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I need to login some end-user computers remotely to assist them in general helpdesk issues like printing problems, issues related to integrations between specialized software (like accounting and tax programs and PDF software for document printing, form filling, signatures, etc.), issues with web browsers when it comes to fill out forms, sign documents, etc.

Pros

  • Fast remote access on slow Internet connections
  • File transfer
  • No password remote access when integrated with RMMs

Cons

  • Remote printing
  • Slow remote access with multiple monitors
  • The tab showing somebody is accessing the end-user computer can be easily dismissed resulting on closing the remote session

Likelihood to Recommend

It is pretty fast when it comes to access remote computers on slow Internet connections.

When integrated with RMM software, you do not to remember the end-user TeamViewer password that TeamViewer generates every 4 hours.

TeamViewer tends to crash on Windows Server machines and it will show the servers as offline when they are not.

Remote printing is not as reliable as with other remote access software like LogMeIn.

It is slow when using multiple monitors

Great remote access software

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it to connect to computers out in the shop. For example, if other employees have questions, we just log on and resolve the issues or questions. It is a bit expensive, but a great tool to get the job done in a quicker way. It solves a lot of extra steps. It is expensive but it's limitless on what can be achieved with it

Pros

  • It is great for unattended access. If i am out of the office I can connect to teamviewer remotely with my phone.
  • It is very easy to use and navigate.
  • Share files.
  • Virtual meetings.
  • Chatting with support via text box in bottom corner.

Cons

  • I would like to see it offered at a lower price.
  • Other then expensive there is nothing I dislike about it.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is great for unattended access. It allows us to support one another since we are are working remotely, and in the office instead of running around from office to office, wasting time, it is very easy to pick up the phone and log on remotely and solve problems or give insight.

Simple, Secure, Fast

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

The IT company we use for technology issues works with us through TeamViewer. When the program is initiated, it populates two codes we tell our IT tech. The tech then enters those codes on their end and it allows them to operate a computer as if they were sitting at our desk, even though they are at their office across town. There have only been a few occasions where they needed to come to our office and take a computer back to their shop to work on it. Otherwise, they are able to fix 97% of our issues via TeamViewer.

Pros

  • Allows Remote Access to Computers
  • Has never worked improperly
  • Easy to Install and Use

Cons

  • Cannot think of anything that needs to be improved. It works wonderfully.

Likelihood to Recommend

The program allows remote access to your computer so it should only be used by someone you trust. Our IT company gains access to our computers with this program. You cannot work on your computer at the same time as the other party. They control your mouse cursor and use it to perform whatever action is needed. If you move your mouse, it will override their actions.
