I use TeamViewer primarilty to support our infrastructure VAPT engagement for multiple clients. As part of the assessment process, I need secure and remotr access to the clients' internal network to perform IP scans and other activities. TeamViewer enables us to access without the need for complex VPN setups. This helps me overcome the challenge of physically accessing client environment, allowing me to conduct thorough assessment regardless of geographic location.

Pros

TeamViewer allows us to quickly connect to client machines without the need to configure firewalls or setup VPN.
TeamViewer support a wide range of operating systems like windows, Linux or macOS etc. This flexibility is crucial when scanning diverse environment during VAPT engagements.
TeamViewer provides end-to-end encryption, two-factor authentication and session logging which align with our compliance and security requirements.

Cons

During long assessment TeamViewer sometimes times out due to inactivity, which can disrupt automation tasks or batch scanning activities. Customizable timeout setting.
Role-based access controls would improve security, especially when client want to restrict what tester can access.
Improved adaptive streaming or a low-bandwidth mode optimized for command-line tasks would help mitigate these issues like some client locations with unstable or low-bandwidth internet connections.

As one of the integral member of our operations and training team it is my daily task to check that all the staffs are getting support in fields they are operating, as we provide services related to car cleaning and detailing so the quality of service execution and overall customer satisfaction in one of the important benchmark and TeamViewer is the platform that makes these small daily tasks much easier.

Pros

TeamViewer helps us in handling all the challenges that we used to face in training our staffs working in remote places
The software is simple to use and easy to access from all kinds of devices weather it is Android, ios or window
Collaborations and team discussions became simple and easy in the company due it's multiple screensharing with users

Cons

There is a need of good wifi connection if you want to work on this platform
If the credentials of the platform get comparmised then there is a possibility of data stealing and unauthorized login
It's licence is subscription based and also little expensive, user will need to take it's commercial licence if they want to use it for their business which will also need lots of documents for verification

We use TeamViewer in onboarding new team members across the organization because we are a fast-growing company with remote workers from different countries. Now our Human Resources and Information Technology staff use it for the installation of standard programs, for explaining configurations of the accounts that employees need, and for checking clients’ compliance with security measures.

Pros

Using remote desktops during onboarding means that all the systems are set, configured and secure.
It has stability issues across different OS types, and it currently supports multiple monitors hence working with different systems is quite convenient.
When it comes to onboarding tasks therefore TeamViewer is of great help because it records the logging history of the activities executed.

Cons

At times subscribers behind corporate VPNs get connection problems that need prior change or setting up.
The remote control through the Smartphone can be more fluid especially on touchscreen devices.
In certain cases connections have to be adjusted manually since some firewall configurations prevent connections.

Perfect for organizations that are transitioning to hybrid work models or switched to fully remote work. Helps to ensure stability and security while implementing systems to the employed staff. Generally, In [...] TeamViewer helps us in organising all of our teams working in the different offices in the country and it also give them good virtual training related to the field challenges that they face. And finally all of these tasks are handled remotely with different locations and the software connects our managers to executives facing any challenges on field.

It manages the group traning well and precisely
It Maintains the reliablity regarding the security of data that is shared to different account on their servers
It has minimised the expenses of physical training that was around 45k annually

Cons

The software has option to integrate it with Google meet so that the details can be shared to large number learners
The software needs a strong internet connection and connectivity to function properly and share video and media files
Compatibility with mobile devices is not that great.

changing interface between versions was a learning curve
connecting to client with single click is very useful, but less safe.
missing some MFA options

We take over remote sessions on a daily basis which mostly runs very smoothly. Therefore, I'd suggest this software to a colleague when asked.

At times the bandwith isn't great, which definitely delays the input from my side causing remote instructions by phone and just viewing what the customer is doing on his screen, this is less than ideal.

Pros

The license model is similar to the business model and is designed to allow worldwide usage with individual region restrictions in a number of copies for each end user.
It can reconnect automatically after the reboots, so patch installations can be completed without making a new session.
Integration with our service desk means that remote control becomes one more state of a ticket.

Cons

TeamViewer normally uses up high bandwidth during screen refresh especially on the ultra-wide monitors.
From the user interface perspective, it might serve more modern, many thought the features could be better organized.
Some types of advanced administrative controls are not intuitive at all.

Most suitable for large corporations who want to have real-time control of multiple devices in different countries. It is not suitable for scenarios where permissions for using the system need to be obtained from the user for every session if there is no support subscription in place.

It has become very difficult to operate without using TeamViewer for remotely accessing the machines on the production floor and IT assets that are located in different places. This has provided our operations team with a means to use PLC-connected workstations, check on production KPI, and tackle software or hardware problems as they arise to avoid costly setbacks.

The current work-specific advantage based on user feedback indicates that TeamViewer proved to be excellent in meeting the specific need of engineers whose hardware is situated on the factory floor yet they need to connect to their workstation remotely.
Such benefits as management of bid access to system control allowing for remote control of system without physical presence, patch installation, and ultimate solutions to arising software problems are outstanding.
It also has logging and audit trail to support compliance reporting and internal paperwork.

Cons

One of the specific development directions is to increase the performance when the system is connected to the industrial automation software like SCADA or CNC control platforms.
These systems require high programmable responsiveness, and may feel slightly less responsive during rush-time milling in our factory through TeamViewer. An option to designate system resources that must be fastest when such sessions are running would be useful.
