My organisation uses Jama Connect for the purpose of requirements development and management. This scope is from the business level (in which we speak with business stakeholders) to the technical level (the implementation of the business stakeholder needs and desires). This allows for more targeted development of products in the context of the energy transition

Creating a library of requirements with the needs and desires from business stakeholders being defined and resulting in the development of one or more products and services to satisfy their business needs. Traceability allows for clear connections between the different requirements and change management allows for controlled alterations to the environment

Our entire company uses Jama Connect to document the following:

</div><div>We also use it to send to our customers either via a direct Jama review or export to PDF/Microsoft Word. </div><div>

</div><div>We also use commenting feature within the review process to be able to edit on the spot per item per comment then publishing a new version of the document for baseline and review. </div>

Likelihood to Recommend

Jama connect has the best UI compared to DOORS, Codebeamer, and PTC Integrity. It’s the clearest to use with the best usability. For example make traces between all requirements is as straightforward as clicking a button. The trace matrix view is highly configurable to get you to show anything you need. It has extensive filtering where every index in your requirement is indexed.

Same with their export features, you can use default templates or create custom templates to export to PDF for all your regulatory needs like submitting documentation to FDA. This has helped us a ton without requiring much edits and letting us create up to date reviewed documents. <div>

</div><div>Speaking of review system, it’s well organized and you can set required approved and optional reviewers. Track your redlines in the tool and also view and resolve comments. </div><div>

We are using Jama Connect to be more than just a requirements management tool - we are using Jama Connect as the single source of truth to contain not just the requirements, but the why and how the system is the way it is. My organisation has only just started on its journey to adopt systems engineering, so we are using Jama Connect to start that engagement with stakeholders from senior members of the organisation, to individual designers and engineers.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is great for engaging stakeholders, both junior and senior because it is a friendly and easy to user interface. Just like any tool, it does need people that are willing to even engage, if they do however they will find Jama Connect very easy to engage with compared to some tools like DOORS which are technically very good, but the interface is less friendly. I find that Jama Connect is not as good for data export e.g. to Word documents. It is probably very possible to use Velocity to get what you need, but that is a very complex and difficult system compared to say DOORS Word Export.

Need a requirements management software for our regulated industry projects. Previously requirements were just tracked via spreadsheet and not in an organzied nor scalable manner. Jama Connect was slected to be our tool to be deployed across our global sites, and we plan to use this across all of our design projects in the future.

Jama Connect generally is a good, classical requirements management tool. Until now, it doesn't come with fancy features, such as those being supported with AI, automated workflows, time tracking etc.

we adopt in SW automotive domain to manage projects that must be regulated for ASPICE, ISO26262 and ISO21434. Main scope is to converge in the usage on a single tool and benefit in having all the traceability in live mode, documentation, requirements and Tests specifications. the target is to adopt the same approach for every project and for differents teams so in case of collaboration we can easily converge.

well suited for requirements management but quite complex when to be integrated with other tools. Jama Connect is a powerful tool that enhances requirements management through centralized data and improves the collaboration for a project. It gives full visibility of the status of project in live mode. it well address SW domain but I have some concerns about the HW domain for which a PLM is needed

Jama Connect is used in our company as a repository for requirements, product risks and test cases testing the requirements.

Jama helps to identify sub requirements that are not linked to any parent requirements. It also helps to generate the verification and validation protocols on the fly after allowing the user to pick the required test cases. Other custom reports are used to generate the requirements documents, risks documents and traceability documents that show the tracing of requirements to their test evidence.

Jama Connect has been invaluable to our organization as a common place to host our product's specifications (user needs, system and module requirements, system interface), testing (test cases and traceability), as well as risk management documentation. All of our recent projects make use of Jama Connect and is used by the majority of our engineers.

Jama Connect has been a great choice for us. After getting setup with the platform, it has been relatively easy and straight-forward to use, from creating new items, sending out items for review, exporting and printing items, seeing traceability, baselining projects, and much more. Having one central location to do work on requirements and testing has been key to keeping organized during development of our products. In fact, we have been recommending Jama Connect to others!
