We moved to Sage Intacct as our accounting software in April 2023. We specifically chose it for its flexibility in the structure of our chart of accounts and superior reporting capabilities. Since going live, we have added additional modules to our subscription, allowing us a dynamic system that is useful to all budget managers and decision makers within our organization.
Pros
The dimension-based structure of the chart of accounts gives great flexibility for reporting.
Dashboards and reports are easily created to provide department-specific KPIs at a glance.
The permissions structure allows for great internal transparency while still protecting confidential data.
The fixed asset module that auto-calculates depreciation and disposal entries is a huge time-saver.
With automatic bank feeds and transaction matching rules, bank reconciliations take minutes.
Cons
The fixed asset management module is very new and needs further development. Currently more complex depreciation such as impairments has to be performed outside of the module.
The inability to reclassify only certain types of payments (not credit cards) is arbitrary and frustrating.

Sage Intacct is a very robust system, and the pricing reflects that reality. An especially budget-conscious organization may struggle to articulate the value proposition, but it has been well worth it for us. Since transitioning to Sage Intacct, we have lost 2 part-time employees to general attrition (about 1.5 FTE) and have not needed to replace them due to the efficiencies that we've developed.
We have three business users and dozens of regular users who use or will use Sage Intacct daily. Sage Intacct gives us access to quicker, more reliable data because it integrates with our other items and is user-friendly. We are looking forward to continuing to unlock more of the power that Sage Intacct can bring to our business.
Pros
Easy to use
Helpful integrations
Excellent customer service
Cons
Complex
Moving from our old system was laborious
There is a learning curve required for full use
Likelihood to Recommend
Sage Intacct gives us a modern accounting system in which we can accomplish the things that we want to accomplish. We look forward to the future instead of constantly trying to finish up tasks from the past. Our users appreciate the value that it brings to their departments and teams. It is a cutting edge system.

We use Sage Intaact (along with the related product Sage SIP) as our ERP solution. For our purposes, this mainly means a general ledger and the FP&A solution. Before Sage Intacct, we were on Quickbooks, which we found was not sophisticated enough to manage custom reporting, maintain internal governance, or do FP&A analysis.
Pros
Maintains internal governance around approvals
Ability to customize reports based on intended audience
Seemless integration with Sage Intacct's FP&A tool.
Cons
I would love to see Sage Intacct have a feature that allows a user to see the G/L impact of a journal entry before it is submitted
The dashboard feature has a steep learning curve
Likelihood to Recommend
Sage Intacct is a great solution for growing organizations or for established organizations with full-time finance and accounting staff members who need more advanced accounting features. I would not recommend Sage Intacct for small businesses with headcounts below ten who are reliant on external accountants for doing things like audit management or tax preparation.
We'd been using Sage Intacct primarily as a bookkeeping tool, but have recently been restructuring our accounting dimensions to have a more robust picture of the company. Sage Intacct has the capacity to allow multiple department budgets with differing funding streams, and use of sub-dimensions will allow us to get multiple views of intersecting projects over time.
Pros
Create detailed reports
Potentially automating AP
Duplicating entries is a time-saver
Cons
Reporting can be difficult to set up
Small glitches with Vendor and Customer names on invoices
Likelihood to Recommend
Intacct can work best for organizations with complex and variable funding streams because the reporting feature can be crafted to show the financial picture through multiple lenses IF it's set up properly. As a non-profit, this is ideal for our agency, though I can see these types of features being less helpful at a for-profit, private company looking to track vendor expenses and simple revenue streams.

We use Sage Intacct as our ERP system and process Sales Orders, Invoices, Purchase Orders, Fixed Assets, journal entries, Grants, Contributions, dashboards, and a wide array of statistical data to create metrics and analyze performance.
Pros
quick access to detailed information
ability to build robust metrics on dashboards
dimensions allow our organization to have clarity
dynamic allocations support our functional expense reclassifications
Cons
I would like the visualizations for dashboards and reporting to be part of the main package and not an add on
Likelihood to Recommend
We are a mid to large organization, I think it might not be best for small organizations.

This is our complete accounting and payment system. We use it for billing, payables and for our financial reporting and analysis. The [...] group out of Dallas has helped us in immeasurable amounts and helped us appreciate all the system will do.
Pros
invoiceing
payables
Journal entries
Cons
printing items or selecting multiple items to print
the date constraints on the financial reporting are archaic and way behind the times. Dates are a variable that people use, learn this please.
limited reports, we need them but not all of us are programmers.
I'm part of the accounting team and we use it to manage our general ledger which includes all financials.
Pros
Easy to integrate with Excel - both exports and imports
High level differentiation of Branch and State Accounts and the ability to operate at a Top Level
Easy to ingrate many accounts with management of Programs and sub departments for complex financial reporting
Cons
When an upload errors out, it will error out on the first error and ignore the rest of the upload - it would be nice if it analyzed all errors from the start. Once you fix the first error, you can get a different error on the next upload.

This program is especially well suited for many cost centers - we have many government grants with varying cycles and Sage Intacct makes it possible to manage all the separate accounts, programs, and departments.
I had been using Sage Intacct for three years and have found it an essential part of our financial operations. For accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting, it is the primary tool for us.Other platforms are also integrated into Sage Intacct, which helps in the process of reimb i.e. nexonia .Org-wise, all these points of disconnect and manual reconciliation processes opening up injuries about the software's effectiveness have been removed, thanks to connections through the enterprise environment of Sage Intacct. Reporting has become more cogent, accessible, and encouraged into data-driven timely decision-making by our executive team. Audit preparation seems way less scary due to the ability to track and document all our transactions in the system. Our Sage Intacct solution encompasses multi-entity financial consolidation, budgeting, and custom reporting for various departments. Most importantly, since we are working in multiple regions, the feature multi-entity management is very helpful for us. And with flexible reporting tools, we can have the reporting customized according to every entity, thus saving time and enhancing accuracy. We have also recently started looking into some other modules like Project Accounting that could help with tracking project costs and resource allocation even better.
Pros
Automates routine tasks while quickly consolidating data, thus speeding up the month-end closing process with greater accuracy.
Generates customizable reports in real-time, thereby enabling data-driven decisions across various departments.
Effortlessly managing the finances between multiple entities in different currencies, with simple consolidation and compliance.
Cons
Importing format can be provided with an example, which will be easy for the new user.

I love the best part in Sage intacct is the billing part - where we can easily convert invoice from PO, where we can identify the total utilization against a particular purchase order that been raised. Secondly I love its exchange rate concept which can be manually entered and provide the best input for any manual entries for older bills.
We use Sage Intacct to support the link between our finance and accounting teams. It syncs with critical tools, supports accurate reports, and is a cross-check against our internal tracking.
Pros
Syncing with external tools
Building robust reports
Supporting accounting accuracy
Supporting our single audit
Cons
Navigation can be inconsistent and confusing
Pulling template reports with small changes can be unintuitive
Likelihood to Recommend
Sage Intacct is an advanced, effective tool that gives us the insights and confidence we need to execute our programs accurately. We've used Sage Intacct for two years to complete our single audits and it has greatly eased that process.
We also use Sage Intacct to produce our financial reports. It would be good to have more control over the appearance and structure of these reports to package them for external stakeholders.
I use Sage Intacct for entering and sending out invoices, for setting up vendors. My favorite thing to do is to use the upload feature to create an invoice, it is the BEST!
Pros
Created invoices
Purchase requisition
General ledger entries
Cons
When invoices are created, it should be able to tell that this is a vendor we use all the time and that all the perimeters are correct
It should be a way to tell the person who requested a purchase req. that it was submitted for approval because in our office, the person who creates the purchase req. isn't the person who submits it for approval
Likelihood to Recommend
I have a lot of different scenarios, I don't know where to start with that.
