Comparison to QuickBooks

Before Sage Intacct, we were on Quickbooks, which we found was not sophisticated enough to manage custom reporting, maintain internal governance, or do FP&A analysis.

Financial Reporting and Analysis

The software makes it easy to track subscription contracts purchased by our customers and schedule recurring invoices for mid-term billing.

Accounts Payable/Receivable Management

We now have a better handle on our A/R, ACH payments are much smoother, and system connectivity is way better with Sage Intacct.

Sage Intacct automates important core financial processes like general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and order management. Describe whether your organization has benefited from this automation, and how.

From 24 reviews | Last Published June 16, 2026

Sage Intacct's automation capabilities are generally viewed positively by organizations, primarily benefiting core financial processes. Accounts Payable (AP) automation stands out as a significant advantage, with 29% of reviewers highlighting its seamless and accurate processing of high transaction volumes, leading to considerable time and cost savings. General Ledger (GL) automation is also a key area of benefit, cited by 17% of reviewers for streamlining month-end procedures through efficient entry uploads and recurring entries. Beyond specific process improvements, these automations contribute to broader organizational gains. Reviewers note enhanced efficiency and time savings, particularly in reducing manual effort for routine tasks and improving compliance for audits. Furthermore, 8% of reviewers report resource savings, indicating that automation can reduce the need for certain entry-level roles, allowing existing staff to be reallocated to other critical functions and aiding in cost control.

Resource Savings

Automation, alongside the emerging AI features, has greatly impacted the organization's cost control. After some extra effort to set up these features, I estimate that our organization has eliminated the need to take on an entry-level bookkeeper. This has been great during a time when there is a shortage of accounting talent.

General Ledger Automation

The main automated technique we use within Sage Intacct is our ability to upload entries into the General Ledger. Most of our month end procedures are currently calculated on Excel spreadsheets and the smooth transition to upload those documents into Sage Intacct has been saving us a lot of time.

Accounts Payable Automation

We benefit from the AP automation feature a lot.

Sage Intacct provides a core set of financial capabilities that can be extended with more advanced modules like multi-entity & global consolidations, project accounting, time and expense management, contract revenue management and spend management. If you have used any of these or other additional modules, please describe in detail how their availability has impacted your organization.

From 24 reviews | Last Published June 16, 2026

Sage Intacct's advanced modules significantly enhance financial operations, particularly in multi-entity environments. A substantial portion of reviewers, 46%, highlighted the positive impact of multi-entity accounting, noting considerable time savings and improved consolidation capabilities. This module enables organizations to manage multiple entities and global consolidations within a single system, streamlining financial reporting and reducing manual effort. While less frequently mentioned, the expense management module also received positive feedback, with reviewers appreciating the elimination of external software costs and direct deposit features. However, the implementation of intercompany processes presents a mixed picture. While some reviewers noted time and cost savings from integrated intercompany entries, others, representing 8% of the sample, reported ongoing manual tracking and implementation challenges, indicating areas where the system's full potential is not always realized. Overall, the available modules appear to contribute positively to efficiency, especially for complex organizational structures, though some areas require careful implementation.

Intercompany Processes

Cutting down on the intercompany entries saves us a lot of time and money.

Multi-entity accounting

Sage Intacct's multi-entity accounting has allowed our organization to save hundreds of hours from having to make the same entries within multiple independent general ledgers and then ensure they are reconciled.

Expense Management

We used to pay expense reports out of an external software called chrome river. It charged us $7 per expense report. Now we pay nothing for expense reports and it’s direct deposit to employees accounts
