I use Gusto to run payroll, pay contractors, handle tax-related documents for employees and contractors, and handle required HR administration.
Pros
Payroll
Payroll Autopilot
Time tracking
Team member onboarding
Serving tax documents
Cons
Setup process for offering new benefits to employees

In a small business where focus is better spent on growing the business, Gusto is a straightforward solution for handling boring yet important aspects of the business liked paying people and keeping the government from getting upset. I don't have a huge company so I'm not sure if it's cost-effective for that type of situation, but for a small business this is my favorite I've experienced.

Our small company utilizes Gusto for payroll purposes. Their system handles all of our State Unemployment taxes and notifies me of current tasks within the portal that need attention. They also remind me of when my bi-weekly payroll is to be completed.
Pros
Quick response to questions.
Ease in running payroll.
Shows what is needed for compliance.
Cons
I don't have any areas of improvement to offer at this time!

I've worked with customer service agents who've provided friendly banter and great resolution! I shared my previous experiences with other payroll companies, and they weren't aware of how to split commission payments for employees...a win-win situation all around!
Gusto is the main HR app in the company I work for. I use it to mainly manage our benefits, time off, holidays tracking, and paystubs. It's very convenient because it's very clean and easy to use. It's also great for managing your documents for your taxes, it comes very well prepared and I've never had any problems in the last 8 years that I've used Gusto.
Pros
Very clean design and great user experience
Very clear navigation and communication
Cons
Everything is great, I don't see any need of improvements, but I see they are always working on improvements making this platform even better every day.

This is great for any kind of business. It can really help from small to large companies. I highly recommend it after 8 years of using it. I've never had any problem and the customer service is amazing.

Our company uses GUSTO as our payroll third-party provider. We can process payroll, pay our contractors, and have them process the tax reporting and payments. We also use GUSTO for onboarding and recruitment tools. They have provided benefit management and brokering for our healthcare. GUSTO integrates with our 401K 3rd party provider as well as Quickbooks
Pros
Integration with other software
Payroll processing for multiple states
Onboarding tools
time tracking
benefit management
Cons
If not enrolled for priority support, sometimes, less experienced support cast may need to escalate to more skilled personnel, which can result in not fixing upon the first request
Likelihood to Recommend
Gusto offers several options to fit a company's needs, and they are priced accordingly. I feel we receive a fair price compared to other third-party payroll providers, and I also believe the user experience is far better than other payroll companies.
I work for a remote-only company. Gusto has been an incredibly easy tool to use to keep track of my Paystubs, Benefits, and Time Off. I appreciate the simple user experience and how quickly updates are reflected on my account. Additionally, Gusto has been great to keep up with other employees that I don't typically interact with due to working from home.
Pros
Simple and intuitive UI/UX
Tracking pay stubs and pay stub history
Easy to view and modify my benefits selections
Cons
Option to remove/add toolbar links
Summaries of paystubs and time off requests
Likelihood to Recommend
I enjoy that I can view my employee records and information at any time, in a very simple and easy way.

Our use case is a small business with under ten employees. The problems solved include reduced HR expenses and ease of payroll. I personally use the direct deposit paycheck split and direct charitable giving. The comprehensive dashboard shows very pertinent information and we all enjoy being able to check hours, pto, and pay status.
Pros
ease of use and navigability.
The number of base package features.
ease of time card corrections.
Cons
The current functionality fits our needs.

I would recommend Gusto for organizations with more than three employees and businesses using regular contractors.
Gusto takes care of our entire payroll and HR needs, including taking care of tax compliance, benefits including health, dental, vision, HSA and 401k. It also lets us manage reimbursements, onboarding, and integrates with Quickbooks for easy reconciliation
Pros
Running payroll and calculating deductions and taxes correctly
Benefits administration and acting as our broker with insurance companies
Support is always fast to respond and effective
Likelihood to Recommend
It is very easy to do everything yourself as a non-HR person, so it is great for founders that just want it all taken care of without having to worry

Gusto is used for payroll, training and time off requests. It's very easy to navigate and use to manage schedules.
Pros
Organizing timesheets
Training Videos
Easy to access
Cons
Better Maintenance
More Functions
Likelihood to Recommend
It's well-suited for small businesses and teams as it allows for easy access, great tools and easy timesheet management. It can work well for larger businesses too, but sometimes it can be harder to log in and workshop with larger groups. It seems appropriate for all businesses but could use more support.

Employee in Social Media (Media Production company, 11-50 employees)
We use Gusto to administer employee benefits and payroll. I log into Gusto to review my paycheck, and select my options for how I receive it. I also log into Gusto to choose my health care benefits once a year, and review my benefits throughout the year. I regularly log into Gusto to request and review the time off I have available.
Pros
Gusto does a great job of letting me know when to expect my next paycheck
Gusto provides a good breakdown of how much time I have off, my past requests for time off, and for which categories.
Gusto breaks down my paycheck and the various deductions very clearly in my paystubs.
Cons
When qualified life events occur during a benefit year and an employee is allowed to add or remove a dependent, Gusto could be more clear in the options for changing your actual benefits. For example, when I removed a dependent, Gusto asked me to select a new health benefit plan when I couldn't actually change the plan.
There have been several times where I've submitted claims for reimbursement for multiple services from my FSA that Gusto has denied, even though the claims are eligible. The explanation provided by Gusto wasn't clear. When I later submitted individual claims for each service, Gusto approved them. Gusto could be more clear about how to best submit claims.
Likelihood to Recommend
I would highly recommend Gusto to colleagues in scenarios where they need a system to streamline the process of handling payroll. I would also highly recommend Gusto to colleagues in scenarios where they need a system to track, receive and make requests for time off. I don't love Gusto as a platform for choosing or changing health benefits. But I don't recall better options, either.
We use Gusto for payroll. I use the web interface on PC and the Android app. It is easy to clock in and clock out from either interface. It is easy to direct payroll to multiple accounts as needed through the direct deposit splitter. Gusto allows our staff to focus on their jobs instead of worrying about running payroll.
Pros
Paycheck Splitter
Mobile time management
Cons
Availability of clock in/out on initial login
Placement of sections of the page on web interface
Likelihood to Recommend
Gusto is well suited for payroll. Easy to use from a user perspective.
Not really sure how to describe it as less appropriate? Like it is not a bank. It won't earn you more money than what your payroll pays you.
