Great collaboration solution

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

GoTo Connect is a fully featured voice over IP phone system similar to RingCentral or 8 x 8 and is also bundled with additional services that can be used for troubleshooting and such as remote diagnostics. It supports a variety of standard phones that can be used for voice communications, and it also includes numerous other forms of communication such instant messaging and conferencing.

Pros

  • The fluffy services are standard and easy to use
  • The conference is fully featured and can allow you to do things that you would normally do with Zoom or other collaborative products

Cons

  • They could improve the variety of the telephones that are supported compared to others such as the full range of Cisco Phones in Cisco video phone
  • They could directly integrate with Teams, but if you already have Teams and you probably don’t need this

Return on Investment

  • Is definitely more cost-effective than a telephone service for centric or otherwise
  • It’s definitely cheaper than Zoom for large mediums

We use GoTo Connect for our phone system. We are a 30-person firm and have used several products over the last 20 years. But GoTo has reliable call quality and generally favorable pricing. It allows us to expand the phone system to folks who are entirely remote as well.

Pros

  • messaging and video calls all included
  • Good call quality; few dropped connections
  • pretty approachable/easy to use
  • reasonable pricing

Cons

  • Customer service can be hard to reach (though we rarely need it)
  • We did have some unexpected charges but those were worked out

Return on Investment

  • We are definitely saving money over previous services
  • We are generally very happy with call quality and connection
  • Video quality is very good as well

We use this to host video calls, especially with clients that are in different time zones or use different video call systems. We have also used it as a way to record presentations as well.

  • Host Video Calls
  • Allow for collaborative meetings

Cons

  • Connectivity can be slow at times when you reach close to a meeting max attendees

Return on Investment

  • I don't know that it has had a positive or negative effect. If anything, it's a conversation starter because not many people use GoTo Connect.

We use this to replace a legacy phone system where there were a lot of employees working remotely.

Pros

  • Setup is fairly easy
  • Robust set of features
  • STability has been pretty good for us, although not perfect

Cons

  • Customer service from GoTo is always sketchy. We rarely need it, but when we do, it's not very helpful
  • More robust tools for seeing blocked calls

  • Saved money vs. previous phone system
  • Gives us a more flexible platform for phones

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it for inbound and outbound communications with our customers. Industrial customers in the manufacturing industry. Additionally, we use it to monitor the number of calls, missed calls, and other key performance indicators. This is integrated into our availability in Microsoft Teams. So when we are available, we can reach out to other available colleagues.

  • Summarize the number of calls.
  • integrate into Teams.
  • Managing incoming calls.

Cons

  • Call routing of incoming calls could be better.
  • The lack of guidance in the interface.
  • difficult to start working with, without clear instructions.

  • Teams working together, saving time.
