We use this to integrate with other software to produce invoices.

Pros

Compiles the documents effectively into a pdf

Cons

Integration isn't fantastic and could be more efficient with Mission Control
UI is basic and could be clearer

Created pdf's OK but the T&C's are unfavourable and should be checked before signing.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Conga Composer for tasks such as automating document generation, merging CRM data into templates, and creating contracts and invoices. On the other hand, Conga addresses issues such as data inconsistency and time delays. Also used for routine communications and reporting. I've seen a significant improvement in efficiency and productivity.

Pros

Data merger and management for creating documents.
Offers flexibility to tailor document layouts and content within.
By automating repetitive document tasks, it has enhanced our productivity.

Cons

The interface sometimes feels cluttered, which can easily updated.
The error messages often lack sufficient detail, which can lead to longer resolution times.
Rest, UI can be better but still it's alright.

Conga Composer excels at producing consistent contracts and invoices from pre-approved templates and is a versatile tool for document creation, particularly for Salesforce integration.

We use the API approach and process about 2,000 to 3,000 documents per day. Have some issues with special characters, richtext field in Salesforce has formatting such as bullets with number and letters with indenting but when Conga generates the document, it left justifies the bullets which is frustrating when trying to dynamically generate the report. Have issue with pictures added to richtext fields and then Conga shows a picture icon instead of the actual picture. Another ask is for attachments in general to add text to each picture and would be printed on the deliverable.

Pros

Grabs data from Salesforce easy.
Report generates 90% of the time so far
Can built a word template pretty quickly when we already know the JSON setup.

Cons

Preserve richtext formatting from Salesforce to Document. Lose the indent formatting.
Way to deal with special characters on final document.
Adding text to each individual picture and have it printed on document too.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Conga Composer for numerous operations, starting with document creation/generation and batch and trigger. We have scheduled batches that pick up documents generated using Conga Trigger and then send them to our customers. These operations are done through automation and manually using the different options offered.

sometimes document generation fails but shows as success on the dashboard
the conga link/url setup for conga trigger is super clunky and has character limits

its well suited for creating a variety of documentation so that someone is not limited to just word vs excel. Composer also offers the ability to incorporate graphics into the documents. Conga batch can be customized and can be scheduled which offers even more flexibility. One of the biggest pluses is that it can be automated or used singularly if needed.

We use Conga Composer to generate documents for internal team members and for clients to sign externally. The business problems addressed are related to financial services account opening, relationship management, DQ checks, and KPI generation.

Pros

Works well with IF Statements and Formulas in Excel
Easy to learn and pickup, with more to uncover as you learn
Great online documentation

Cons

More tutorial videos on specific processes
Better technical support through tickets

Likelihood to Recommend

Conga Composer is well suited for situations involving document generation for small and large business purposes. Especially in situations that benefit from document automation.

Conga Composer is less appropriate for situations in which data cannot be readily pulled from Salesforce or another source, where users have lot of manual additions to merged template.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Conga Composer to standardize, organize and maximize our Invoicing and Contract Management processes. Composer allows us to generate invoices based on type and currency to format detailed or summary level information to provide standardization and transparency for our billing and accounting processes. Conga Batch allows us to setup automation to send out all of our invoices and related follow-up communications. For quoting and contracts, Composer allows us to maintain multiple templates depending on contract type, which has opened up more possibilities for self-service and has freed up more time for our legal team to focus on more complex challenges as our business evolves.

Flexible template creation and management
Batch automation of Invoicing communications
Flexible and robust merge field automation to increase transparency and enforce greater accuracy for our contracting process

Cons

Sometimes it is confusing to lookup query terms within Conga Learning site
Within Conga Learning the more real world examples and How-Tos, the better

Likelihood to Recommend

Invoice creation, and contract generation. Batch send of reminders and communications.

Composer is great at pulling from field data of source objects, but limited to 1-level of relation to that source objects, and not as capable of making calculations or formulaic logic within the template - it is often better or easier to create those formulas in Salesforce and then retrieve them with your template.

We use Conga Composer to generate custom documents that are our work product. Composer takes in dynamic information from Salesforce and generates a PDF that will be sent to our client once our work is complete. We have specific document needs by client and compose allows us to meet those requests and needs.

It is well suited for being able to generate dynamic document generation. It allows for the users to select from a wide range for predefined templates to pull in CRM data to apply to merge fields in the template. If there are specific needs around a standardized document with dynamic data it works well.

We use Conga Composer to assemble our pricing documents that are provided to our distributors and customers. These documents house pricing information and contract information. Conga composer allows us to reference information from custom objects which is great!

Pros

Admin friendly without needing a salesforce developer
Generates an organized PDF output that is easily digestible
Have not run into limits when building tables

Cons

Quicker run time when merging document information

We use it alot to build PDF templates, writing Global Merge queries and generating invoices and adjustments related to monetary stuff. We also recently wanted to add an ink signature option using Conga Sign (We already use Sign but we heard we need to use the API for this use case) so we are in process of implementing that.

Generating a client list with logos and printing a PDF format using Salesforce as our single source of truth. Creating Quotes that are pulling from multiple related objects which cannot be done using Salesforce alone.
