Chargebee - Extremely useful but costly product.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Chargebee is used in our SaaS for subscription billing, where customers can subscribe to paid plans without the hassle of manually paying all invoices. It will initiate payment for all outstanding invoices. This also helps us with churn management, which is significantly reduced due to the absence of manual intervention.

The biggest advantage in direct dollar terms we have seen using Chargebee is that it has freed up some of the working capital since clients are paying relatively on time. Overall, Chargebee is helping me and my organization in managing subscriptions, billing, and invoicing. International transactions and payments are also seamless via Chargebee so scaling across geo is easy.

  • Integrated with CRM systems to send quotes and manage the entire quote-to-cash value chain
  • automated invoicing and prorated billing options for our clients

Cons

  • onboarding process for new accounts being cumbersome at times. Chargebee could potentially streamline this process to reduce friction for new users
  • there is no in-built intelligence on any kind of billing fraud or friendly frauds that happen or at least it is not visible

My company uses Chargebee to set up which of our plans have access to which features in the product and how much to charge for each feature. Addon features are also included in Accounts whether we charge for them or give them for free. It is our billing tool.

  • Scheduled changes can too easily be overridden by another change.
  • Searching accounts sometimes takes a long time or times out.

I used chargebee for one of my subscription-based websites it was easy to set up and it was up and running really quick.

They have very good documentation which is very good. They have very responsive and helpful customer support. You can automate every task and have everything one platform which is really good for any business.
