If you have a large headcount of devices, Automox assist you to keep your system upto date, you can set policies for any particular app or system update, categorize users by group, you can check log files also for troubleshooting. Automox don't support mobile devices, so is your organization have Smartphones and tablets that needs to be under management, this is not your solution.

We have a pretty sizeable number of mobile clients and trying to get those devices in house on a regular basis was problematic. Automox enabled us to be able to automate a lot of software patching and maintenance that reduced exposure windows and enabled employees to continue to work without the inconvenience of having to bring their devices to the office for patching and updating.

The product is well positioned to assist IT teams with device maintenance in environments where mobility is predominant. It is especially helpful for disparate systems. It does have some overlap with Intune and that could compete for prioritization of policies and updates.

Smaller organisations such as ourselves, who have outgrown their MSP but still need to retain control of their system and have visibility of the estate. The tool enables us to have real-time visibility and deploy or remediate as needed. We have also purchased Rapid7, which integrates natively into the product, making it a more powerful tool moving forward.

As a 2-person IT Team, Automox really helps us manage endpoints that are spread across multiple states. Being able to schedule when the patches are deployed is very useful. We can deploy OS and 3-rd party patches during off hours to reduce endpoint downtime. It's not as easy to manage our air-gapped endpoints with Automox. These require a more hands-on approach.
