Overall Satisfaction with Automox

We at our agency use Automox mainly to automate the patching and updates for about 200 Windows servers, allowing us to automate compliance and security without a whole lot of manual work. Automox helps us solve business problems around providing security, availability to systems, and managing the IT workforce. The service is a vital part of our overall patch strategy and ongoing maintenance of infrastructure.

Pros

  • Manage our windows updates and compliance
  • Reduce time needed to manage updates
  • Quickly report on out of compliance devices

Cons

  • Default reports are too generic and do not allow for much customization for detailed audits or summaries
  • More granular control over update windows for various device groups would be more useful
  • Native patching for many commonly used third-party applications
  • Automox reduced both manual labor and operational expenses by automating patching of roughly 200 windows servers
  • Automox being a cloud-native platform has removed our need for on-premise patching infrastructure, saving expenses and overhead for management
  • Improved visibility on, and consolidated control of our endpoints, thus reinforcing our ability to quickly respond to vulnerabilities
For usability because the platform itself is clean, intuitive and very user-friendly, meaning that anyone, including novices and first-time endpoint management tool users, especially admins can easily navigate through the platform. The single console grants the admin great visibility into patch status, policy enforcements across desktops, and device health meaning when there is a problem, we can take action. Automox's automated features are easy to set up and take a lot of heavy lift work away from the admin and platform users. However, we deducted two points for some instances where we felt the user interface felt limited such as customizing reports, and managing complicated scheduling.
