Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I am the Controller for the company and led our team in the exploration of ERPs and the implementation of our system.

We required a system for tight integration of sales, inventory and general ledger management. Acumatica brings all of these together in an interlinked system, allowing creation of sales, management of inventory and the necessary balancing to the general ledger.

Pros

Exporting and availability of data for external BI tools
Creation of users and user management
Integration of the system from the individual sales/inventory/AR/AP modules to the GL

Cons

More availability of General Inquiries that power the native reports in Acumatica
Locking down of Warehouses to the specific Branch that the Warehouse exists from

Likelihood to Recommend

Acumatica is well suited for companies that are brand new. Our company had a set list of procedures and scope that were core to our business success. We had hoped that Acumatica would be easier to transition these into an interface, but this was far from the case. We had to go through extraordinary effort and a prolonged implementation and go live, as there were severe struggles translating our processes into the system that were not presented to us at the time we were selecting ERPs.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Acumatica is our full ERP, from sales orders to AP/AR. The platform quickly navigates multiple issues that we had previously while using multiple platform instead of getting it all through one.

Pros

Creating sales orders and quickly shipping material
Controller documents showing outstanding AR/AP
New- Showing dashboards and creating new ones with ease

Cons

Our implementation didn't focus on the Acumatica university or platforms that have a lot of info
coding some of the KPIs

Likelihood to Recommend

Many things to describe, inventory movement and when to order more so accounting doesn't get mad when we spend too much money and have items sitting for too long.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I am in Field Operations. I use it to monitor our Service Technicians throughout the day. It give me real-time insight into their daily activities. It allows us to react quickly to problems they encounter in the field. It allows our team of dispatchers to monitor and assist the field throughout the day. We are notified when they are completed, when they need additional parts etc. And most importantly lets up quickly close and bill our customers.

Pros

Dashboards are wonderful. Have changed our whole business.
While the mobile app isn't very user friendly it is great that it integrates in so well with the entire platform.
Performance Is great.

Cons

Mobile App. Not user friendly. Needs some basic coloring coding and bigger more user friendly buttons and it would be great. iPhone really needs Sort Filter enabled on appointments.
Customization needs to be a little more user friendly. Modern UI is probably the answer. Looking forward to it.

We use it for a project ERP. The multi company and multi currency are important to us we operate in 6 countries. We are looking to use it more with our operations this coming year on new projects about to start. We love the customization and data access. Acumatica rocks.

We use Acumatica as our ERP system including accounting. We are still facing challenges with inventory and accounting foundation issues. I think that there may have been some areas where our consultant group might have oversold us. I believe they were not fully prepared or understood the scale of what we do.

The connection between screens and modules.
Have all the customer information (ex, sales history, sales orders, historical part numbers) be linked under the customer history, either by report or tab.

Likelihood to Recommend

Acumatica is well suited in many areas, but with our unique business needs, we could see areas of improvement. The sales order, shipment, and invoice are not tied to one transaction screen. There are just too many clicks unnecessarily. This is found throughout the system where information could be linked in better ways but is not.

We are a manufacturing company for oil and gas; we used it to improve our manufacturing process and finance and better use the data.

Pros

Create multiple warehouses to manage inventory and transfer from different locations.
Customizes the sales order form based on the customer's needs.
Reduce the steps to convert SO into production orders.

Cons

The manufacturing module for scheduling doesn't provide detailed information from the use of resources, so it doesn't prioritize the production orders based on demand.
Automation of min and max based on the demand or consumption: it will be great if you can set a delta, for example, change min and max if the variance is over 25% higher or lower and review min and max if the demand is over 100%.
Tax calculation in the sales order and invoices.

Likelihood to Recommend

Companies that are looking to scale the business and find ways to centralize all the data into one platform that allows you to create more customization based on your company's needs.

Acumatica helps resolve our integration issues with our POS back office system, back office administrative work (AP/AR) and accounting/reporting functions.

Pros

Intuitive next step prompts during processes
Accounts Receivable invoicing and payment processes
Accounts Payable bill and payment processing

Cons

The fixed asset creation and reconciliation steps need to be clearer for users.
The ability to create audit logs should be available to track users progress through various steps and identify who approves at various levels.
The project module reports also need to be fleshed out better to provide simplified data of total expenses related to a project. I've struggled with not being able to see bills linked to a project through the AP module within the Project module reports.

Likelihood to Recommend

Acumatica is most appropriate for account receivable and payable processes to create and pay invoices/bills. It is also very useful in the Taxes modules to track the various types of taxes.

We use Acumatica for quoting products, and services. We use it for AP and AR. We used to need multiple softwares and too many documents and Excel sheets to track and manage orders and job.

Order processing from beginning to end in one place
Purchasing and approval processes
Project management, and in field communication

Cons

Correcting drop ship PO's after a receipt
Being able to correct a goods receipt
Completing RMA

Likelihood to Recommend

Tracking and following in order in one place from the lead, to the opportunity to the quote, sales order, shipment, tracking and invoicing. They all link back to each other and you can easily find your data.
