Overall Satisfaction with Acumatica

I am the Controller for the company and led our team in the exploration of ERPs and the implementation of our system.

We required a system for tight integration of sales, inventory and general ledger management. Acumatica brings all of these together in an interlinked system, allowing creation of sales, management of inventory and the necessary balancing to the general ledger.

Pros

  • Exporting and availability of data for external BI tools
  • Creation of users and user management
  • Integration of the system from the individual sales/inventory/AR/AP modules to the GL

Cons

  • More availability of General Inquiries that power the native reports in Acumatica
  • Locking down of Warehouses to the specific Branch that the Warehouse exists from
  • Overall, likely a negative impact so far. We were expecting to be able to process more as our company became busier. Unfortunately, we had to hire more people as our company became broadly more inefficient due to a horribly botched implementation period. We also spent money on modules and third party apps that never worked and we were never able to realize value from.

We have been able to provide better reporting for our customers at an end level for Invoicing and Sales Orders. However, the time to get us there was significant.

Over time, we have been able to brute force our work force and create timely financials.
Acumatica unfortunately struggled to meet our specific business needs. The core of our company is our order fulfillment and delivery, which we have yet to fully realize within the system.
We selected Acumatica based on our requirements that we had laid out to the various providers and ERPs we were investigating.

Acumatica is well suited for companies that are brand new. Our company had a set list of procedures and scope that were core to our business success. We had hoped that Acumatica would be easier to transition these into an interface, but this was far from the case. We had to go through extraordinary effort and a prolonged implementation and go live, as there were severe struggles translating our processes into the system that were not presented to us at the time we were selecting ERPs.
