Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
We use Paylocity to process weekly payroll for about 130 employees. It's a fairly easy payroll platform and we're looking now to implement the Expense Module. However, we have a couple of items preventing us from moving forward.
1. We want to see a threshhold where if an employee sends in an expense reimbursement under $500 their Supervisor can approve but if it's over $500 a Super Approver would need to approve.
2. Under "Payment Method" there's a option to select "None" which we don't want to include (to avoid confusion). Currently these options are not available to us. I have a few more items we'd like to see addressed and I'm working with our service rep to get these handled.

Pros
- Payroll processing is easy
- PEAK Articles can be helpful
- Reports are customizable
Cons
- The Prenote feature auto populates the prenote date on a new hire back to ONE year prior to the hire date, which disables the feature. I have to manually go into the employee's profile and change the date.
- We're unable to use the Request Time Off feature because we need 2 approvers (the employee's manager and the owner of the company). However, Paylocity only allows for one approver.
- We'd also like to have a 2nd lever approver on Performance Reviews.
- We'd like to have the capability of assigning a permanent password to an employee's self service login.
- In Performance Reviews the system would remain in a loading or thinking stage after an employee would save during the review process. This caused the employee to lose their changes and they'd have to reinput their information.
- We had our union mechanics added during implementation and later found out that Paylocity couldn't accommodate our needs (adding mechanic qualifications) and had to shut down that piece/payroll.
Our staff is salary so we don't use the Time & Labor module. We don't use the Time Off Request function because the platform doesn't offer a 2nd approver.
As we are a small family owned company with strict guidelines, we're not using the Peer Recognition.
All programs have their pros and cons. I really like Paylocity but sometimes I feel I know the product better than the service reps. Paylocity is so close to greatness that if they can really listen and implement suggestions from the end user I'd be thrilled!
