Use Paylocity for my clients payroll processing

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I have clients that use Paylocity as their payroll provider. I provide outsource accounting services for my clients and this includes processing payroll, from time to time, on various different platforms, Paylocity being one of those platforms. While Paylocity also offers more robust HR solutions, my client does not utilize those functions. We process payroll semi monthly.

Pros

  • Simple Batch creation process
  • Simple Batch editing process
  • Great customer service!!! x 10 Best of Class

Cons

  • Sometimes editing employee profiles are hard to navigate
  • changing employment status/history is hard to find
  • adding new rates vs editing new rates is difficult.

Return on Investment

  • When it comes to payroll liability, I don't like to mess with it. Reduced errors is huge!
  • Timely filing, we never have issues when it comes to our filings.
  • Payroll processing is quick and easy! huge time saver.

Paylocity Review

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Payroll processing and timekeeping recording. Looking to add benefit time tracking and HR module as well. Great for transit benefit tracking and administration along with 401k and Roth contributions. Reporting features are very good but could be simplified a bit for the end user. Mobile app is wonderful that allows punching in and out with a great geofencing restriction.

Pros

  • Payroll processing
  • Timekeeping
  • Transit Benefit
  • Reporting
  • 401k Administration

Cons

  • Reporting
  • Benefit tracking

Return on Investment

  • Saves a lot of time by outsourcing payroll processing
  • Simple platform
  • Precise reporting when implemented

Paylocity - Well worth the time you will save using this software

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Payroll, Timecard, Onboarding. When we first started with Paylocity in 2017 the customer service and training was top notch. People would actually walk you through the process of how to enter time corrections on the time sheets. They would walk you through how to process payroll. Recently we added the Onboarding feature and the training process was very frustrating. Here are videos to watch and toggle back and forth from the video to the Paylocity platform to understand what steps need to be taken to complete the task. It wasn't until I expressed my frustration I was then provided with the one on one training with a Paylocity team member.

Pros

  • I love that when I call Paylocity I always get a live person. In the 8 years we have used them I only got a recording 1 x as they were out for an all staff training. That is very impressive.
  • Always great about researching my questions to see if we can add a feature and then very honest about if it will or will not work and why.
  • Extremely Helpful and pleasant every time I call.

Cons

  • I prefer to train via a phone call with a live person rather than watching a video and trying to navigate the system and watch a video to learn how to work through a process.

Return on Investment

  • Time savings compared to previous payroll company
  • Ease of system compared to previous payroll company
  • Love that employees can update their information when it changes
  • Helpful, friendly staff when I have questions that always answer the phone
