Great Payroll Platform and Customer Service

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We currently use Paylocity for Payroll. We have hopes to increase our current product with Paylocity to include HR Edge. Which would help us have a complete HRIS system. Paylocity is easy to use for both admin and end user. We have a robust payroll that is done with ease using Paylocity. There is a year-end learning curve if you do not have the correct set up and has been difficult for us when it comes to paying our partners year-end pay out with not having a W2C, which is frustrating.

Pros

  • Ease of Use for admin and end users.
  • Quick customer service action - solves problems and questions quickly.
  • Robust reporting.
  • Minimal learning curve when implementing.
  • Continuously upgrading the product to conform to customer needs.

Cons

  • We have had lots of year end issues specifically with Partners W2's.
  • We had an accrual issue that was causing 2 additional vacation/sick accruals per year.
  • When updating accruals- the paperwork to do so is confusing at times. I feel there is little support to assist you in filling the paperwork correctly to reflect what you need the accrual to actually do.

Return on Investment

  • Better workforce visibility
  • Reduced time expenditures
  • More accurate time tracking of workforce

Paylocity Review

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Paylocity for recruiting and it has very definitely streamlined the process for us. Although it is still in process, we are integrating Paylocity with our benefit platform which will provide us with total automation during our open enrollment.

Pros

  • Customer Service is always helpful with little wait time.
  • Always improving; for example, the recent change to processing payroll. So much easier.
  • Onboarding makes it simple and the fact that the company can personalize the messaging to new hires allows us to make it more personalized.
  • Having an assigned account manager regardless of company size is definitely a plus.

Cons

  • The Knowledge based articles are sometimes frustrating because they have so many other links embedded in them, it can be challenging to just figure out the specific issue needing to be addressed.
  • Finding specific reports can be difficult because they don't always seem user friendly and customer service have the same challenges.
  • Paylocity is so robust it can be overwhelming, and I don't feel like we maximize everything available to us.
  • I have received complaints from managers about the time off request approval process. They say the approval request could be much easier if it linked directly to the place where they need to approve instead of being a two-step process and they find it confusing.

Return on Investment

  • Since implementing Paylocity in 2023, we have fewer tax reporting errors. We have remote employees in multiple states and incurred errors with our previous payroll vendor. These issues have been eliminated with Paylocity AND, more importantly, we can actually communicate directly with the tax dept. which other vendors prohibit making it difficult to get quick resolutions to issues.
  • Paylocity is priced competitively and bundles its products in a way that makes good business sense.

Paylocity is all you need

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Paylocity for all our payroll needs. We have the system integrated with recruiting software so that onboarding is done electronically and uploaded into the Paylocity system. All employee information is entered and edited, and all pay detail is included. Payroll reports, ACA compliance, and more can be accessed through their reporting system. Processing payroll is seamless, and the system is very user-friendly.

Pros

  • Great customer service with one dedicated account rep
  • Systems are very user-friendly
  • Reporting and employee tracking easy to use and customizable

Cons

  • The onboarding process could be more detailed so that employees can enter more information versus the administrator adding it manually
  • The report writing tool could use more detailed explanation
  • The help topics and articles are sometimes hard to locate

Return on Investment

  • Paylocity has helped with saving time with the onboarding process
  • Paylocity saves cost by centralizing new hire uploads
  • Paylocity provides great data to help make financial decisions
