Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
We have a company set in Paylocity for four companies. We use it as an overall HRIS system, for payroll, for annual performance reviews, for tracking time and attendance, and for FSA. We have Paylocity integrated with two different 401K plans and the team works to help us keep that integration seamless. We also use Paylocity for payment of garnishments and child support payments.
Pros
- Payroll - our payroll process works very well and the customer service team walks us through any issues or one-offs.
- Time and attendance tracking - our staff love the time tracking, both online and in the app. Asking for time off is also a breeze.
- Performance management - we have our annual performance reviews set up in Paylocity and we use the process every year. It works very well.
- Customer service - we have an amazing customer service team and I have yet to speak to anyone when I call that isn't knowledgeable and helpful.
Cons
- FSA - this is the one area that we have problems with every year. Enrollment is a pain, and usually on January 1 we have issues with people having access to their benefits.
- Reporting - I would like to find a year end report that captures our data correctly for 5500/401K reporting. I usually have to pull several and compile the data.
- We moved to Paylocity from a PEO and have saved over $100K per year in fees. We also have better control over our payroll data and making sure that things are correct and approved prior to pay dates.
- The fact that my staff can update their own accounts without having to make a phone call saves us a ton of time.
- I love that I don't have to call or create a "ticket" every time I need to make an update in the system. When I do call, I get a live person immediately, and they are always extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
- We use Impressions to give our employees peer-to-peer kudos which has improved our employee morale.
- Our managers love being able to pull data out of Paylocity to look at scheduling issues and help drive decision making.
My HR and management teams have more time to devote to strategic business initiatives because they are not spending time making updates for employees, adding in PTO requests manually, or answering pay questions. Our staff have optics to all of their personal data and have a better sense of control and accountability.
We use Impressions on an ongoing basis and it has really improved our internal morale. Our staff like seeing them come through, and our managers enjoy adding them in. We have not had the opportunity to use Surveys or Premium Video through Paylocity, yet. We use Community to post information for all staff so that they can see it when they log in to track their time, or access their Self Service Portal.
There is really no comparison. Paylocity is by far the cheapest, and easiest platform to use and doesn't come with the expense/challenge of having one specific HR person who doesn't respond to requests. We have a team that we can contact and get through immediately each time we have a question. I don't need an HR rep - I am HR and have my own staff.
