Overall Satisfaction with monday.com

As part of the professional services team, we use to to bring in opps from Salesforce, when move to closed/won, it triggers an automation to create a client board. We have a high level board that manages all of our implementation clients, by product, along with their implementation client health, phase, notes, and time tracking. Our child boards are used to keep each clients implementation on track. These boards are collaborative between us and our clients to ensure we are tracking milestones and staying on track.

Internally, we have our implementation playbooks, onboarding, and meeting notes to everything is in one place.

Other uses:
Forms
Training Requests
Onboarding (Internal)

Pros

  • Automate otherwise manual tasks
  • Notifications to key stakeholders during important milestones
  • Ability to be flexible with the column types and board setup

Cons

  • Time tracking which really leads into capacity planning - we haven't been able to get the widget to work
  • Ability to do more with all column types (i.e. notifications and automations based on formula and mirrored columns)
  • Reporting has always been a struggle for us. We had to completely redo our workflow based on our reporting needs that we found out after the fact. Focusing on reporting more up front during implementation would have been helpful
  • More flexibility within forms - easier ability to update (i.e. archive someone's name if they no longer should be in the dropdown choice)
  • Easier admin management - a place to see who has access to what in a better format
  • Time savings - automations are wonderful!
  • Increased transparency internally and with clients - this is huge! The ability for clients to be added as guests and interact with us directly in Monday.com has been helpful! Looking for more ways to increase buy-in.
  • Our internal goals is speed to value - Monday.com allows up to outline our project plans to help achieve that speed to values.
  • Decreased manual mistakes or miscommunication - increase in standardization and process management.
Monday.com have been great for us (Professional Services team implementing software in the EdTech space). We have some simple integrations, but would likely benefit from adding more. Monday.com does take at least a .75 or full time person to be the Software Admin to really devote time to understanding the ins and outs. If you don't have that, success and adoption will be more challenging. Setting up Monday.com and understand the vast amount of capabilities is key to a successful deployment.

What I love about Monday is it's ease of use, ability to share and interact with guests outside of Monday.com, the great visuals making it more appealing to work in all day, and the ability to build what makes sense for your use case and org. Overall, excellent product!
We have a dedicated CSM named Will who has been helping up a lot. Since we are a very hands on and well versed client, we are often ahead of the game when it comes to the use cases we have and the questions we ask. We enjoy pushing the boundry and thinking about all of the various ways we want to use Monday. We've struggled lately with time tracking and capacity planning which we hope Monday.com is looking at investing time into soon.

Monday.com has helped grow leaps and bounds from where we were 1/5 years ago. If I were to be told Monday.com was going to go away tomorrow, I would feel very distressed to put it lightly.
We've only had a few instances where Monday.com was fully down and it was extremely short lived. When we first started implementing, we used to get a lot more errors around pages not loading, updates could not be made, etc. These errors have seemed to lessen as time goes on. Great work Monday.com on improving!

We often have integrations that break (Salesforce), but I am not sure it is a Monday.com issue. However, this does impact us a lot and oftentimes it takes us a while to know when it integration stopped working which causes some panic and additional time to troubleshoot and get back up and running.

Do you think monday.com delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with monday.com's feature set?

Yes

Did monday.com live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of monday.com go as expected?

No

Would you buy monday.com again?

Yes

Monday.com is great for managing large amounts of projects. The different workspaces help to keep the space clean and allow for the ability to use it for so many different use cases. It's wonderful for implementation project management, documents storage (playbooks), onboarding and training, gather information via forms, notifying the right groups of people when certain circumstances happen (increased transparency).

Not well suited for tracking hours and capacity (i.e. resource management). Monday.com can also increase usage and adoption if it were easier to tie boards together in a more automated. Functionality should exist for all types of columns, not just a subset. We are still trying to get used to what can and cannot be done within subitems.
