Overall Satisfaction with monday.com
We use monday.com across several different teams to manage projects, collaborate, and assign tasks as well as to manage our marketing calendar. On my team specifically, we use monday.com to manage creative work, plan and develop marketing campaigns, track marketing requests, track and manage product launches, track and manage social media and track and manage our overall marketing calendar. Our design team uses it to track time, bandwidth, and to collaborate across the organization.
Pros
- Project Management - making sure large projects are on-time and providing visibility into what is going on with a project at any given time.
- Cross-team collaboration - making it easy to see who is working on what and collaborate on creative work and other items either via email or in the app itself - even with folks who do not have Monday.com access. We also use forms to manage incoming requests, and those have been a godsend.
- Birds-eye view reporting - monday.com makes it really easy for me to see what my team is working on and where they are with respect to deadlines.
- Communications - monday.com's sharing features make it simple for me to share out our entire marketing calendar with folks so they can see what we have planned vs. constantly asking me.
Cons
- The way automations are built is a little hidden from the team and can be hard to understand. Having to go three clicks deep into the board to figure out what is going on with automation can be a problem. As an admin, I'd like to have the ability to edit automation that I didn't create. At times, we have old automation that needs an update, but the team member who built them is gone, and I cannot edit them. I can only turn them on and off.
- Cleaner updates to the dashboard views. Right now, we have a shared instance between several divisions, and we manage it through workspaces, but I can't set a default view workspace for myself, so I can't set a bookmark to go straight to my team's boards ONLY.
- More granular notification control. I don't like desktop notifications AT ALL, but I also don't like getting an email every time someone responds to a thread on a board I'm a member of, but I also want to know when I'm supposed to go and do something. The notifications are a little wonky and tend to break a bit. So I'm left with having to monitor the platform all the time to make sure I haven't missed anything.
- monday.com has allowed my team to better manage all of their marketing projects, and as a manager, it gives me great visibility into the question of "where is this thing?" or "when is the next promotion for X?"
- monday.com allows my design team to better plan for demands on their time as well as share files for approval from all of us without having to manage that via email.
- When folks are out on vacation, it's so simple and easy to cover for them because everything we need for the project is right there on the monday.com board!
- monday.com has allowed us to better support our sales and account management teams with form requests so that suggestions and needs don't get lost in someone's email.
