Overall Satisfaction with Miro
We use Miro for all sorts of things that require a visual representation. The most common use cases that we have team brainstorms, roadmaps, story scoping and presentations. These are at several levels of the business from individual development teams and product groups to board level presentations.
Miro excels when there is an interactive element involved as others can easily get involved.

Pros
- Introduction sessions - Team intro where you have different activities and want to get involved.
- Jira style task planning - offers flexibility for when you want to plan task for yourself
- Story Planning / brainstorm session - particularly good when you want have many people contributing different ideas
Cons
- Retro functionality - There doesn't seem to be a good way to use it for retrospectives. This is due to it's failure to enable you to vote and group efficiently.
- Design - I find it very hard to design things in Miro, some places like figma have enabled auto design, it would be good to see something like that.
- Has enabled me to delivery dynamic roadmaps and plan effectively due to flexibility. This has improved communication to senior stakeholders by being able to show how different developers that are working at any time.
- I have been able to track my own work much more efficiently by using this as a task tracker.
- It has been a great motivation tool for introductions and icebreakers!
The ability to all add notes into categories on a board has been super helpful. In general just having a place to drop loads of different ideas into different sections of a board at the time of use is great.
Miro has overtaken a lot of things in my tools section, I maintain a board that I use for most of my work notes and tasks that is interactive. I can even share parts of it with others when there is relevant information.
In some cases we have replaced architecture diagramming tools for software with Miro as it is far more flexible and we can scope out the high level diagrams quickly and efficiently all while working together.

Zoom's whiteboard tool was no where near as refined and you are not able to save. Not a real comparison but we wouldn't use it at all now.
Visio is an example of where it's a tool that is too complex for the average architecture conversation, Miro is much more flexible and better for idea generation
